K&N Cold Air Intake Install 2019-2021 Chevy Silverado (PART# 57-3108)

If you are looking to add Power (Up the 10.87HP) to your Silverado1500 and you are on a budget. The Cold Air Intake I am installing today is the 57-3108 K&N Performance Air Intake System.

This K&N Cold Air intake not only adds power under the hood, but it also adds style. The factory Air Tube looks terrible under the hood and this K&N High Air Intake Tube really gives you a reason to raise the hood and show it off. This is one of he easiest Cold Air intakes to install because it utilizes your factory air box. This K&N Kit comes with a Drop in High Air Flow filter. This installation is on my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss 5.3L The part number is 57-3108. After installing it I do feel like there is more throttle respond and more power!

Thanks for the vid Zach. I was going to pick up the 63 series as well, but decided on this 57 kit instead for the same reasons you mentioned (and it's a lot cheaper). Thanks for the tip on the AC line too. Wish you had an affiliate link to give you a little kickback - I just picked mine up after watching this.

good video..I was about to get a cold air intake, but this makes more sense . thanks.. the big box is the only difference , this way more direct air. k&n says amost 11 hp.. thats fine with me. rather than paying $500 to $600 bucks for 14 more hp..

Glad I could help. I also wanted to go this route in case I ended up with the lifter issue some people are having. Just in case chevy tries to say anything about changing the air intake I can easily swap it back over to the factory tube since the factory box is still there.

@@zachattackcustoms yep..donslife did a video on that issue..sort of.. he said if you put it in L9 it cuts off the DMF.. also he found information that says GM has known about this lifter issue from the beginning.. so depending on the protection laws in your state if you have an issue they should fix it no matter what..

@@zachattackcustoms just an update for you.. ended up ordering one from Summit Racing for $279... had to wait on it a couple of weeks because it wasn't in stock but that was okay.. installed it a couple of weeks ago.. according to a couple of videos I watched if you leave the battery disconnected for an hour and a half to two hours.. when you reconnect it the computer relearns the new airflow.. it works great I can actually feel more power earlier in the pedal.. no code runs great.. next I'm going with the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back system.. it's a lot cheaper than the borla exhaust system everybody's buying.. about $700 cheaper..

Sounds good, yea I did disconnect the battery for about 5 min off cam but haven’t heard you had to have it off that long. May try that to see if there is any difference. Check out the Borla crate muffler I did videos on. I didn’t want to pay for the full Atak system either. Thanks for the update!

It’s not a bad upgrade for the price. No, I don’t have a link. I found the lights at Ollie’s. I don’t think they have them anymore, but there are several different kits that are similar on Amazon. Thanks for watching!

Any update on the sound? I’d get the a full new setup but I live in California. This would be the only option I can go without being non carb compliance. Also, I have the filter already just like you. How did you order the remaining parts? Is there a landing page? Or do I have to phone into k&n because they would have to make a custom order? Not really much sound from under the hood but it did seem to make the exhaust tone just slightly deeper in my opinion. Of course it could be in my head. I had to call k and n and they sent me the remaining parts from the kit. Make sure they don’t send the part for the 6.2 motor if you have the 5.3. They sent me both, so I had to send 1 part back that was like $30 that I didn’t need.

How do you like this system? I trying to go with the K&N Blackhawk Cold Air Intake Kits 71-3110 But I have to have it shipped out of state to a friend's then have it shipped to me but I'm trying to get some feedback from the carb legal model before I do

I felt like it added a little power/throttle response. I felt like it was a small upgrade but it’s not a bad price at all. I truly noticed a bigger difference when I changed over to the Cold Air Inductions Air Intake and added the jet performance mass air flow sensor. You can check my reviews on those if you want to. There is zero power gain. Just feels better because your getting more noise feed back from your motor. Noise just feels good.

Yes there is since its a cold air box there is more power because the filter is protected from the engine bay heat. Im about to buy this kit and the Jet MAF

Did you tighten down the nipple all the way down into tube, instructions said two turns I noticed you tighten all the way to the tube thanks

I just hand screwed it on until it stopped and then took a wrench and gave it a small bump

@@zachattackcustoms Thank you. As far as sound, the throttle body seems to be sucking in more air. I went crazy looking for a leak but didn't find any. I'm assuming it's from the install. Thanks for the information haven't messed around with a car in a very long time.

No problem at all. Just FYI, make sure you reset the computer by unplugging the negative side of the battery and turn on the headlights or something to drain power so it can relearn its getting more air. I usually leave it unplugged for about 30 min. Also sorry for the awkward talking in the video lol. It took me a little time to get comfortable talking to the camera lol.

I never had any CEL. I am pretty sure I disconnected the battery before I installed it.

I noticed a difference with the MAF sensor and throttle body but the biggest difference was the MAF sensor. Throttle body was only a slight difference.
