Hi, I appreciate your comment! Make sure to get the right filter as 2021 Golf TSI (assuming MK8) will have a very different air box. Potentially also look into getting a bigger Turbo Inlet Pipe for more airflow and noise.

Now also cut out the closed part of the intake @ 2:13 for more air. You could of got the same intake noise with the original airbox filter with that modification by the way.

I’d be up for it, if I could find a proper OEM blanking plate to make it look neater… so far I haven’t found any that fit for anything other than the MK7.5 GTI.

@@alexandermax13 For which side? For the left side (when you stand in front of the engine) there is an OEM duct blank (from a GTE) to block it. The other side is already blocked, you have to open that side for more air/better airflow. The GTE duct blank blocks the part at 2:50, like right next to the sticker.

Sounds amazing! Do you have a link to the CTS Turbo Downpipe you’ve got? I’m also planning to get the CTS Turbo CAI in the next few months. Note that the Turbo on the EA211 is already a hybrid… shame as would have preferred an IS20/38 style and fitment.

@@alexandermax13 hey sorry for the late reply, yes I run a JD Euro hybrid turbo. Im having a custom flange made for an IS20/38 swap in the future. I went to Titan Motorsports online for the CTS downpipe.

@@alexandermax13 the stock turbo on EA211 is a VTG turbo (similar design to a Porsche’s turbo or those put into common diesel trucks). There are adapter spacers you can get custom made and ordered through word of mouth to run hardware for an IS20-38 turbo swap. You need to forge the motor internals to run either of these with high boost (greater than 25-27psi max) safely. Ive known a few people now who have blown their 1.4tsi engines pushing past this with upgraded turbos.

Unfortunately that would be hard for me to compare as I don’t have a CAI. Note that I do plan on upgrading to a RacingLine CAI in the future.

Realistically? Not particularly, I think it’s more a placebo affect but it does sound pretty good.

Being very honest, do you feel that there was any change in the performance of the engine? any real increase in engine power or just the noise of the air passing through the filter?

To be completely honest with you… it’s hard to tell, but I think once you pull at higher RPM you definitely feel like it pushes you into the back of your seat. For street driving at low RPM you won’t feel any difference but the noise is nicer, although I want to get a proper CAI for it.

@@alexandermax13 dont get a CAI unless you get a tune for it, and if you do dont get just an open ended one, get a proper enclosed one that brings in cold air not hot air from the engine

The Parts Number for the Cabin Filter is the following; VF2047. I unfortunately haven’t used a K&N Oil Filter, however, the K&N website should be able to assist you based on your vehicle registration/VIN.

@alexandermax13 thank you mate! Is your gear box a dry clutch? If so! Have you serviced it yet? I have a dry clutch and the dealer says it does not needs a service??? But every thing needs maintenance, I want to get mine serviced

I have a manual so it’s a dry clutch, and not much you can do maintenance wise. On a side note, the DSG hasn’t got a wet clutch but a Haldex fluid… the only wet clutches I’m aware of are on motorcycles.

If the airbox is the same i.e. designed to fit an EA211 engine, then I don’t see an issue with fitment. With K&N you’re likely to be able to send it back if you pull it out of the box and can visually see it doesn’t fit (before you take the plastic wrapper off).

Yes the coil packs that sit on the spark plugs have been upgraded. You’ll find the video off installing them on my channel.

What year is your car from? What RPM does your car idle at? Mine is from 2017 and feels fairly smooth at idle other than recently but that’s due to more sporty driving etc. I also plan on replacing the spark plugs soon as idling is around 800-900rpm rather than 700rpm.

I find the throttle response has increased as well as noise… definitely a good upgrade if you want to stay OEM airbox.

What car and model year is it? Note that the CHPA version is also an EA211 engine by that produces 140bhp… I’d guess that they do fit if it looks like my engine and the original coil packs look similar.

You can hear the turbo a little more though you’ll be better off with a dedicated Cold Air Intake (CAI) if you want better turbo noise - this is an upgrade I’d like to do further down the line.

It definitely is more of a good feeling/sound type of modification… though I would say it allows the turbo to spool up quicker than your standard OEM panel filter.
