Dear, I really appreciate your valuable efforts to convey information to the public. But a single misinformation can mislead the public from the right route. LMIA and work permit are not same. A positive LMIA is an approval letter from the govt to the employer to hire a foreign worker, which has 6 months validity. In this 6 months period, the employer must hire a foreign worker. If not, employer should apply for a new LIMA. The hired worker can be employed as per the contract ( normally 2 years) between employer and the worker.
