Criminally underheard/underrated, this man is a straight-up genius -- his creativity and originality make him one of the handful of vital artists working in hiphop today, along with Kanye, The Roots, and fellow Canadians K'naan and Shad -- and head and shoulders above most of the better known crop (crap?)...

I hadn't even realized how truly deep and multilayered this is... Shame most of us will never ever listen to it, let alone get what things it's about (well, one is supposed to figure such basic and logical stuff before they listen to or read and pay attention to something which hides such messages, imo, which is part of the endless paradoxes, vicious cycles and self-inflicted prophecies etc etc that is stupidity... brilliant songs being less popular is just highlighting and exposing that stupidity immaturity etc behind/and the choices of most, and the fact that they take them lightly with little or no regard to their consequences - could be writing for 2 more hours about these and the obvious hypocrisy they usually come with but I'll stop it here).

i believe he was touching on the fact that we may on the outside seem to be alike, but we all share this common quality of creativity. The rows of people and their blank expressions are, at least to me, meant to show the limitation of public ridicule and burderns that hold us back from following our own path. It also seems as though he tries to stress that fact that we all have a creative side to us, which is why he chose to show the people as minions.being unique is only achieved through wisdom

WHAT DOES THIS SONG MEAN TO YOU? to me its about relationships.... you think about yourself and keep your walls up and have fun with friends and not get involved with someone (VAIN) or you go into a relationship and you will get hurt beyond your wildest dreams....ive been through that many times and it hurts so much! if we dont let people in were considered ass holes or shallow or players, shit like that. but i mean NICE GUYS NEVER GET GIRLS, AND WE ALWAYS GET HURT MORE...

This IS hip-hop, just the good shit, not what they play on the radio (I.E: Soulja Boy Tell 'Em or Lil Wayne). This is old-school hip-hop with a new twist. This particular song is a bit different from most of his material, but it's still hip-hop. If you're looking for something more relatable by k-os, you may want to try I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman(starts strangely, but gets into a great song) or Man I Used to Be.
