Hi new watcher and very impressed with what you have done; My oldest daughter worked at the same hospital for 37 years. Started at 18 and worked her way up front desk admitting all the way to the position of CEO for credential / procedural mandates for two hospitals with the Medical Management Corporation. Yes she did get her degree& Masters working for the hospital but she was always "on call". She reached burn out about five years ago but was too young to retire and it was the start of Covid. She was forced to work from home and did that for 6 months. A position came open with the hospital she started with and was able to step down from her Managers position and take a lesser position working for the hospital again. What was nice was all her time n benefits were given back to her so she had worked for the hospital for 35 years. She realized if she worked till she was 46 and one day she could take full retirement from the hospital. She will get Social Security at age 66!! She and her husband both turned in there resignation on same day !! He has been working in banking as you were Shanon even though he had a masters in Education. He has found a job working in a Christian Charter School and loves it. I know this is long but everyone needs to take a chance if life shows it to you God Bless both of you n good luck

Great that you are building community and bartering with others. We did what you are doing years ago and ended up on acreage with a homestead/farm. We barter food for help, donate extra to friends with pigs, swap chickens, and barter farm products with a larger local farm for their customers or restaurant clients. We love the land, gardening, eating fresh organically grown food and the animals who help us. We believe that it is vital to grow real food.

The thorny trees like honey locusts are nitrogen fixers and are beneficial to the orchard and gardening landscape. Thorny, yes, but might read up on their benefits before killing them all off. Mimosa trees are fixers as well...though petty and a mess.

Many years ago. My father in law used wasps to get rid of traveling salesmen. Lol He told of one time, he was laying under some farming machinery fixing it to continue his farming jobs. A salesman drove in and proceeded to try to sell something not bothering to realize the farmer was busy. While he toiled on the machinery, pounding it, maybe to drive wasps to frenzy. The salesman backed off and shouted he hated the wasps. Farmer said” don’t bother them and they won’t bother you.” The salesman soon left.

My daughter's horse would run off the turkey's and deer. Oh my we had giant snakes. I would wear my bathing suit because of the pool and I always wore barn boots. I carried a plastic bat and hit the ground so the snakes went elsewhere. Really they would wrap around the pool pump.

Lol! I'm not thrilled with wasps either! One summer I got stung everyday for a week! I finally carried OFF! Around with me. If you find their nest, in the ground or where ever blast them with wasp spray at night when everyone is home! We had a hornets nest the size of a humans head in our cedar tree! I went out one night with a big plastic bag and a can of wasp spray grabbed the nest and sprayed inside the bag, tied it up and put it in the garbage can! If you do get stung Bachs Rescue Remedy stops the pain immediately! You can get it on line or most stores, here in CA anyway. BTW, those irises are hardy, you can move them, spread them out, they will spread! Beautiful!

It's funny how you say"don't try this at home", when we were kids (I'm in my 50s now) but we lived in Kentucky, and used to go sledding on windshields from old cars and trucks. It wasn't the smartest thing to do, especially when we would hit a stone under the snow that we didn't see, and some of the windshields would bust. Needless to say, some of us got cut good, but I would probably say to my kids/grandkids "don't try this at home" lol

Lord, thank You for making it possible for Kyle and Shannon to move forward in this new adventure! Thank You for using them to bring honor and glory to Your Name. Expand their territory in ways they can't even imagine, for the sole purpose of drawing them closer to You, each other, and for the upbuilding of Your Kingdom. Each and every time the enemy attacks them with doubt and fear, remind them that with their eyes and hearts fixed on what You desire, NOTHING can stand against them. In Jesus I pray. Amen Thank you guys for your raw and honest approach to everything. You are funny. Kyle, as a fellow hater of all things that fly and sting, my heart goes out to ya. I HAVE finally learned, after 47 years, that if IT TOUCHES ME, it WON'T STING, but if I TOUCH IT, I'm toast.🤣🤪I actually have a goal to keep bees before I leave this world! That's HUGE, for me. God is multiplying my desires with each new day! ♥️• THORNHILL ACRES •♥️👍🏼

In my younger years i was walking home through the backyards. I walked by my moms flower garden and 2 bumble bees chased me. I Yelled for mom, she opened the screen door, i run in and she quickly shut the door and the bee smashed its self on the window. But the 2nd one got me. I looked like the hunch back. That was the day we found out i was allergic to those nasty things. Be careful. Love watching you two.God bless ya.

Watching you guys brings back memories of when my Dad bought land on a lake. Clearing for the house, garage & yard, clearing & stabilizing the shoreline, building the buildings & sheds, clearing a spot on the back 40 for a garden it was a big chore. Seeing the changes pretty much daily was one of our rewards. We did it all with family & friends & now have many great memories, not just of the work we put in but the time we got to spend there after it was finished. It`s a lot of work but so worth it in the end. Prayers to you both

I’m 74 and live on my own. I love watching your whole families. My son is 46 and has been in IT for 25 years. I have heard him talk exactly like you did. But he is staying. Maybe someday he will do as you. As for the wasps find the nest and spray. Faith will keep you safe. All love from Country Victoria Australia 🇦🇺

You two are amazing! Keep doing what God's wanting and you can't go wrong. Sucess is being able to lay down at night: knowing you was kind and helped someone alone the way. I'm 63 years old and worked 39 years. Was forced to stop work due to health issues. I look back and wished I quit work, got rid of all the stress and enjoyed my life some. I'm looking forward to watching the journey God has put you on. Love you all and all your other family. I enjoy their channel as well.

Congrats on being able to quit your jobs! I really feel you guys appreciate your subscribers! I shows how you respond to them. I love to see you guys learn all these new things! This is something I grew-up doing so it seem normal to me, but I realize there are a number of people who have never done any of this. Good luck in your journey!

Absolutely appreciate what you are doing. I worked in Industry for 52 years. I was dealing with all the things you were. I am 69+ and wish I had done what you are doing but never had the opportunity or courage. Health is everything, 2 replaced knees, artificial heart valve and a pacemaker later I learned. I am retired and enjoy every video. I watch Adler, Grandpaw and Reas rescue. The place will change one day at a time. Life is too short enjoy every minuet. PS I am also a member of the Cog Squad. Buy Shannon a tractor and bush hog.

Good for you both. After 21 years of doing what I was, I stepped back as well. Managing is not my thing, and when I went to a lower position, trying to help others all that happened was getting thrown under the bus and not appreciated at all. As of March, I work for pennies at my son's elementary school. My sleep schedule is better, I get to play with the littles, and the smiles on their faces when I help them is priceless. I'll get the summers off as well. Time for my family and myself. I haven't had a week of vacation since 2018. So kuddos my friends. I enjoy watching you two.
