Mixed theeyal
Ingredients
1. Elephant foot yam - 1 cup
2. Long beans (payar) - 1 cup
3. Brinjal (long) - 1 cup
4. Shallots (small red onion) - 1 cup
5. Green chilli - 3 to 5
6. Salt - to taste
7. Tamarind - gooseberry size
8. Theeyal podi (Masala)- 1 cup
Seasoning
9. Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
10. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
11. Red chilli - 3 to 4
12. Curry leaves - plenty
Preparation
1. Sauté the vegetables in oil (3 to 4 minutes) & boil adding salt, curry leaves & green chilli; till done well, add the tamarind juice , boil well again.
2. Grind the masala (theeyal podi) nicely adding a little hot water.
3. Add the ground masala, mixed adding water to adjust the consistency, boil well.
4. Season with the ingredients & set aside.
