Ingredients
Shallots (Small onion)- 200 gms
Red chilly - 5-6nos
Grated coconut - 5tbsp
Green chilli-1
Coriander seeds - 11/2tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1\4 tsp
Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
Coconut oil - 2 table spoon
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
Asafoetida Powder -2pinch
Fenugreek seeds-10no
Curry leaves-1 string
Salt -to taste
Water-21/2cup
Jaggery-
Method
Cut onion into half .
Fry red chilly,coriander seeds ,coconut ,fenugreek and green chilli till it become brown in colour.
Grind it into a fine smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan or kadai.
Splutter mustard seeds,add curry leaves,
Add onion and saute.
Saute the onion till brown colour ..
Then add tamarind water and boil for 10 minutes
Add the ground paste to it with 21/2 cups water.
Add asafoetida powder and jaggery ..
Now add salt and stir well..
Boil till the gravy thickens ..
