I can keep listening to Sri KVN every minute of the day and still I'll be craving for more! Just unbelievable. Purest of the pure and so enjoyable! His voice is so absolutely smooth, silky and so elastic as if it has no resistance! This is not music for the mind. Its for the heart! I don't need to put effort in meditation. Simply listen to Sri KVN. The accompanying artistes are brilliant. They are part and parcel of this entire package!! Thanks to this whole team for this wonderful gift.

This could be described without exaggeration as one of the most sublime concerts ever brought out on KZbin, KVN in his element losing himself in moments of palpable bliss in the honeyed passage through the neraval and dazzling moments of raga delineation and the entire atmosphere electrified by the supreme skill of PR and elevated to heights of enjoyment by the delectable melody of VVS...what a combination ! ..an unforgettable experience worth a hundred other expeditions to attend concerts on and off the screen..the only other comparable event I can recall is Sir Roderick' s memorable recording of a private performance of MDR using an old fashioned cine camera ... ever grateful to such eminent connoisseurs and devoted music lovers who conscientiously captured these priceles moments for posterity and shared them generously...

The Concert achieved its peak at the Viribhoni Varnam itself, at the First Charanam... Raghu sir.....Omg Osm is an understatement..And set the tempo for the rest of the program.. Contemporary Mrudangists, Who wants to take the concert to A highest level should listen to Raghu sirs methods of Sowkiyam way of accompanying without marring or jarring the main artist and at the same time uplifting the Krithis that are played. Having learnt from him and also listening to hundreds of his live concerts, I am with a strong conviction could declare that Raghu sirs vidwath, especially After his revered Guruji PMI mama's eternity, has exceeded All levels of Highest standards and finesse and at times I used to think he has been surpassing the Benchmark set by his own Revered Guru Sri PMI, off course with his Blessings from the eternal world. And my strong conviction is proven again and again, in each of the Concerts I happened to listen, either Live or Recorded. Would anyone Beg to differ with me, if you have been keenly listening to most of his Concerts with different Main artists, right from Nedhanuri Mama to Mandolin Srinivas, Sanjay, Ravikiran, Malladi Bros et al to his own grandson Abishek...???🤨

What a classy treat from the great Palghat team of KVN mama - Sri VVS and Sri. Raghu. The Purvikalyani and Sankarabharanam krithis have been listened to several 100s of times, but watching these legends present this and enjoy their every expression, is a special treat. Sankarabharanam alapana followed by VVS mama’s violin and neraval at “badari vana moola” is exquisite, one of the very best renditions of this Kivalur special from Sri. Dikshithar. Thanks to the “knight in shining armour” Sir Gessop for another priceless treasure. I guess your music vaults hold more riches than all the vaults in all Swiss Banks. Keep them coming, my dear Sir.

Listen from 19:57 onwards! My goodness!! Takes the breath away every time! It's like as if KVN mama and Raghu mama are one! Someone once told me, when one listens to these two musicians together, it's like as if even their pulse rate and breathing rate are in perfect sync! That knowing smile exchanged between Padma mami and Smt. Anuradha at 20:36 is what we all feel while listening to this!

to me this is the most satisfying performance of kvn as i could enjoy this as a live concert which i attended personally. I didn't have that luck to sit in his live concert and awestruck on his breath taking performances. this discount that to certain extent..... what a beautiful performance. Ma ramanan ... Hindolam ...Papanasam Sivan ... KVN ... VVS ... Palghat R Raghu ... what more do the rasikas want? The mridangam just like this guruji is singing along with his buddy KVN. In Kalpathy agraharam lived the legend Palghat Mani Iyer. In came KVN to be mentored on vocal practice by the mridangam maestro himself. Soon a lean man parked his Raleigh bicycle in the agraharam courtyard. He alighted from the bike and entered the abode where several students are busy playing mridangams. The guru instructs the newly arrived young Raghu to follow his school of layam dictum: The Three L's : Look -- Listen -- and Learn. He did just that. You see the hardwork in play here tonight with is brilliant mridangam captured in its entirety by that gifted German researcher. Pranams to him and pranams to all musicians. In 1984 KVN sang Akshayalingo after the sweet and picture-perfect Sankarabharanam alapana. Same here he was touring USA. He sang "Bhakti biccha miyyave" at the New Jersey's Rutgers Univ kutcheri in the company of Sri MS Ananathanarayanan and Padmashri Raghu's prime sishya [and my dear friend] Trichur Sri 'Chittazhi' Narendran with the great Higgins Bhagavatar in attendance. Saveri Ragam-Thanam-Padam(not Pallavi as that was the night he would have been at Trivandrum's Navaratri Mandapom singing the same Saveri Padam) was the main piece with "Somabimba ..." getting the most emphasis. What a grand night it was after KVN's host's car broke down on the busy New Jersey Turnpike. I along with late Sri Jon Higgins did the car rescue to arrive at the Rutgers auditorium for the successful kutcheri. Sri VVS is doing his brilliantly sweet take on the lovely Sanakarabharanam. Thank Saraswati Devi he is still with us. So is his gifted brother Sri VV Ravi and his able son Sri VVS Murari. Pranams to the trio. Narayanakurup Kanthikumar on a hot and peaceful Monday afternoon in the lakeside town of River Islands, Calif (I love the humble young men sitting close to Sri Raghu; must be his students; also the harmonium, a rare sight on a Carnatic stage, is nice too)

Raghu Saar was seated almost at the end of the stage -- as if close to a cliff about to be fallen off. Yes, just as Classical Carnatic Music should be performed. This is a very serious art form meant for uplifting and enriching the soul. The Mahavidwans in this video are the very embodiment of the golden standard of South Indian Classical Music. This is not like fusion, film or light music genres, which are only meant for mere entertainment and titillation.
