I love the advice, also some constructive criticism, I personally like my hair nearly pin straight when I choose to flat iron it. Your end result just looks like a sleek blow out and not a true press. It’s still looks great though.

I agree. I have very curly hair and I’m able to get bone straight hair using The Glam Twinz method and my hair always reverts fine I only do it two or three times per year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thought that, my old not at all fancy straightener gets a sleeker result on lower temps than this really expensive Dyson one.
@yvonaj3493 Жыл бұрын
I think the key to sleek straight hair if you have curly hair is put extra moisture into your hair (for example leave warn castor oil in your hair before washing) and then let your hair air dry mostly, then blowdry when it's not soaking wet, as much as ucan and then go over it with a straightener for the necessary bits.

constructive criticism POV this is too puffy , i mean when i want to make the choice to straighten my hair I would do it when i want it straight and not puffy , there is a difference between regular hair volume and puffy hair volume , and I’m getting puffy volume vibes from this look but it still looks good on you but not everyone can pull it off

I thank you for reading, answering, and taking into consideration what we say on the comments. That's really awesome. 2. I also want to thank you and Amanda for taking time to make these videos. I know this is a part of your job BUT I also know that, just like everyone else, you most definitely have your own life stuff and it must be hard to create content if you are ever not feeling at your best. Many many many people have felt alone during this pandemic. I have sometimes felt very sad. However, I want you to know the impact that you guys have made through this by being gentle to us, making us laugh, and promoting self-care through hair (which I also find wonderful). In a way, it's like having a friend from afar; and that's pretty cool. Thanks once more and God bless. PD: English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes.

When you said “Any Dominicans watching out there are like, ‘That’s it?!’” I felt CALLED OUT 🥵 🇩🇴 lmaoooo fr though Mel, this was an incredible video! Being a curly girl my whole life I struggled to love and properly care for my hair. It took me a long time to realize that the two go hand in hand. I’d always straighten my hair and over time, as I did it less and less, I’d only use the flat iron the first day of straightening and then the túbi would hold (and re-smooth) my style for me. I straighten WAY less often now, bc thanks to you I have found a renewed passion for my curls and I’m so happy with how far they’ve come!!! I really want these Dyson tools though bc they’d change my LIFE 😭 Anyway I love y’all, stay amazing! Texture Tuesday is my fav day of the week!!! not trying to sound shady, but your hair looks like it was straightened and than exposed to some humidity. It doesn't look very sleek, its more of a blowout look than a flat ironed one in my opinion , is that because a low heat was used?
@roselynmvm3 жыл бұрын
Highly likely. The only way to get hair super sleek is with heat, unless hair is ultra healthy. But she does have bleached/color treated her so she probably really needed that heat to smooth out that hair. They should have tried to get a model with a different type of hair for this demo 🤷🏻♀️

I have long, thick, curly coarse hair. I've been doing this same process for the last 12 years and I'm done torturing myself. During the pandemic, I let my hair dry naturally with some diffusing and have been wearing it up all this time. What a relief and a revelation it's been. Despite the fact that I was able to achieve a nice silky 'pageant hair' look, I just can't do it anymore. Will no longer put myself through a hellish wash day spending 35 minutes trying to get all the moisture out, then flat ironing. And in the summer? It was like exercising in a sauna to dry my hair in the bathroom. What's the point in taking a shower when you're covered with sweat afterwards? Now I'm thinking about cutting my hair in a long pixie. If it looks good, it would change my life forever. BTW, Dyson products are made in China and if you look under the hood, they are not all that.

But, I do straighten my hair from time to time, however whenever I do my hair goes really fluffy (not frizzy), this never used to happen. It has been over the past couple of years, this makes me not want to straighten it because it just looks a mess and becomes pointless in having spent the time straighten it. Ok. I am professional hairstylist, with similar hair like you. I do agree that low heat is the best, and least damaging, but I can see from your hair that would get all frizzy and awful after 10 minutes. Hair, if it’s straightened needs to be smooth. And yours weren’t really, I could see frizz in process. No way of sugar coating it, but you do need a high heat. You can get products that reconstruct your hair by using heat, but you need it. That’s why I would advise to straighten as rare as possible, but I do find this video misleading

I definitely want to see a review on the T3 LUCEA ID SMART FLAT IRON WITH TOUCH INTERFACE.. is it worth the $200-$300 price tag?! Does the personalization actually work?!

Awesome video! I'm planning to straighten my hair on the year mark from when I started embracing my wavy/curly hair. This video will come in handy!

Thank you!! Very helpful to know not to air dry first. Definitely made that mistake before because blow drying takes forever and I’m lazy! 😂

My sister in law's name is Molly, but when she wears glasses, her husband calls her Melissa 😂 that's my suggestion! This was helpful, but I don't use a flat iron anymore. I've been using the Amika hot brush, but I'm really not into it and need help. To curlies reading this - do you have any advice for this? My hair is very long, mostly fine and type 3 curly. I find that the brush isn't dense enough to capture all of my curls. More like a comb, the curls just brush through and it does nothing, so I have to use big sections and high heat for it to actually work - which is a big no no from this video. I think these hot brushes work best for people with little texture, thick hair, or both.
