3:97 is very powerful and telling , you can already begin to imagine the Sunni whose happy to just wear a blindfold around his eyes (and expects you to do the same), telling you “oh well you don’t know the Arabic, it doesn’t mean what ur saying in English”, to which we would say “okay, tell me what it means in Arabic because it has to mean something as God would never play games with peoples eternal souls and the Quran says it’s clear”, to which he will reply “only the scholars know”, or something like that, essentially the Sunni is in a cult, his mind is won over by the shaytan, and he doesn’t know and isn’t willing to reason or be fair, he’s al but admitting that he is indeed an idolator.

The explanation in Aidid Safars book "Mental Bondage in the name of God" had the best explanation in my opinion. Bayt is not house but a system. I disagree with his point that masjid al Haram wre the sanctified decrees. The word Haram cannot mean holy/ sanctified and unholy/forbidden at the same time! Haram = unholy or forbidden in all occurrences. If a pig/rotten meat is Haram = forbidden then it cannot be holy or sactified aswell. We cannot pick n choose. Peace.

@@RaoufAthar Have you checked the translation of brother Sam Gerrans on 9:28? His take is that hajj verses are abolished and are more historical verses, based on the fact that the people prophet Muhammad first warned rejected him, ans thus they were destroyed, so Masjid al Haram would have also been destroyed, this hajj there is abolished. I'm still cautious, since the verse seems to be able to be read in one or another way... since the skeletal arabic is open, so i advice you are careful. Brother Sam said this was the hardest one, and i get why now... Altough this would explain why we are not given the location directly. In any case, Petra seems cool to visit, if that be the true place. And either way 9:28 relates not approaching Masjid al haram due to the mushriks being unclean, but if they got destroyed then there is no issue? Take care and keep researching. The essentials are always clear, for the purified! If you think about it, even the word salat being changed to mean prayer, still many sunnis or some are fullfilling their true salawat, so even then the Qur'ans message is preserved and gives the same ideas... So don't worry my brother, i also get too much in the details, but we forget about what is straightforward like donating to charity or speaking truth... let us at least fullfill that... then wonder about secondary stuff... Remember that the hajj being a pillar is what sunnis believe... nowhere does the Qur'an mention that... The pillars are believing in the angels, God, the last Day, his scriptures, prophets messengers... then doing charity, being just, calling people to the faith, guarding your chastity... I would recomend us master this before we even wonder about hajj being applicable today or not...

I follow the Quran alone but when I prayed that Allah enable me to do the pilgrimage I indeed went to Mecca. That isn’t to say that everyone who comes has pure intentions or that idol worship isn’t occurring. I do believe the kissing of the stone, throwing stones at « Satan », trying to seek out the shrine of the prophet Muhammad, trying to touch the footsteps of Abraham and believing the kaaba has power to answer prayers worshipping it, all of this is idol worship. But turning our face to it and going there solely for pilgrimage seeking God alone isn’t stone worship. I say this because the verses you cited state the pilgrimage. I see what you’re saying regarding entry of the Kaaba but there isn’t another site where this other verse below applies today وَأَذِّن فِی ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡحَجِّ یَأۡتُوكَ رِجَالࣰا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرࣲ یَأۡتِینَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِیقࣲ﴿ ٢٧ ﴾ Proclaim the Pilgrimage to all people. I don’t disagree that the Kaaba has been made an idol when the Quran has not authorised that we idolise the Kaaba but that we simply take it as a direction or qibla. It doesn’t mention hanging the Kaaba picture in our homes or burying our dead facing it or praying to it. But the act of pilgrimage itself must be in Mecca because there isn’t to date any other place where thousands of people are coming from everywhere as the Quran prophesied…

The verse mentions people coming from "every deep mountain pass" And they did come, as long as they came, even if they abandon the place later, the verse is fullfilled. Could it be for the sole purpose to da'wah towards the pagan pilgrims in that it would certainly be what they were there for. Im imagining ibn zubayr had taken this with him in revenge perhaps knowing hajjaj would be after it..? It cant be that the sahabas were worshipping it after the prophet's death?

Are you referring to that the shrine being shifted from where the footsteps were to where it is now? You keep saying "worshipping the stone" and we all know that's not the case, YOU know it's not the case. Abraham faced all the places (sun, moon, stars) and asked Allah for guidance and one was offered in (Becca, Mecca). This was also challenged when the shrine was shifted for a brief moment to identify hypocrites when P.Mohammad (PBUH) was tasked with a test (also proving the point that it's NOT the stone that we worship). I don't know what your beef is , maybe its with the Saudis but u can't keep saying stone worship - and you are hung up on the 'was' in the translation,here are other translations where 'was' isn't mentioned: 3:96 - The most important shrine established for the people is the one in Becca; a blessed beacon for all the people 3:97 In it are clear signs: the station of Abraham. Anyone who enters it shall be granted safe passage. The people owe it to GOD that they shall observe Hajj to this shrine, when they can afford it. As for those who disbelieve, GOD does not need anyone. Becca BTW is mentioned in the old/new testament, another sign that all the messenger, prophets and message of God Alone are connected. If you are saying that the site itself is false, then there are other signs like ZamZam water well and Safa and Marwa that points that it's the accurate location. Stop with the BS on stone worship.

Say, "To GOD belongs the east and the west; He guides whoever wills in a straight path. Message to the people of the previous scripture: 2:145 Even if you show the followers of the scripture every kind of miracle, they will not follow your Qiblah. Nor shall you follow their Qiblah. They do not even follow each others' Qiblah. If you acquiesce to their wishes, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will belong with the transgressors 2:146 Those who received the scripture recognize the truth herein, as they recognize their own children.
