Funny how that resonates with what you had said in your first Kaalia decktech video considering Underworld Breach, dockside etc have all been printed after it :D also goes to show how important creativity and playtesting are. I'd love to see an interview with the Heliod dude also, it's really great to hear ppl talk about their decks !

This deck is great, I love it :D He made some really good card choices I think and as a K'rrik player I definitely have to agree with his assessment of Vilis, the card is absolutely bonkers if it lands and the fact that it can target itself with its ability means that you'll always have a target for it. And I just bought myself a doom whisperer, I was on the fence for a while already because I thought it can't be bad to surveil 2 for only 2 life and have an efficiently costed body attached to it.

@@cedhtv Ah no I don't plan to include it in K'rrik, I just bought it in case it gets more expensive and I need it later for whatever other deck I maybe build :D K'rrik already has enough ways to lose life and slots are always pretty tight. If black gets a Thassa's Oracle/lab man effect (I don't think that would happen but you never know) maybe that will become an option but for now that's not the case ^^

so i built this ,gold fished and playtested with some friends, this deck is powerful but has a little glass cannon aspect. I also put praetors grasp and rite of flame for bob and world gorger. After doing the combo having to manage the mana the whole time was super annoying and world gorger for infinite mana is great. also i petered out here and ther so added bob for card advantage and having another creature to sac and to have in the graveyard for mausoleum secrets. Over all though I am a big fan!

Wooow, my gf is a big fan of kaalia, i am translating this video for her (we are from Russia). I found only 2 gameplay videos of this deck: one from the stream of tournament and 1 from the final. Where can I find more, if they exist? I want to understand this deck on 100% and help my gf to build her ideal deck)) (which will probably be based on this one). Now she plays stax, but this is not that effective strategy like this one) I guess, Moscow meta does not expect Kaalia at cedh, so we want to shake some tables really hard ^-^ Hoping for more gameplay videos for this deck (or maybe detailed primer)

So you have vilis in play. You activat vilis to give a creature -1/-1 and lose 2 life. You now get 2 card draw on the stack. Now someone cast swords to plowsher in vilis to get rid of it. In respons you activat vilis again to lose more life. In respons someone cast anouther swords to plowshers on vilis. In repons you cast fire covenant. In respons someone cast a counterspell on fire covenant. In respons you pay 1 life and activat vilis. After all this you are probobly going to lose your vilis but also draw all the cards you paid life for. This is how vilis goes past interaction.

@@cedhtv Thanks for clarifying this! Just to clarify, Vilis doesn't dodge counter magic. This is not what we are writing about, right? To take your example, stax order: 1) Vilis trigger draws 2 cards 2) Someone casts Swords 3) In response Vilis triggers once again. This action does not cancel above Swords... so why someone would cast another Swords on Vilis? 4) Another player casts Swords 5) I cast Fire Covenant and decide to lose more life. Does Counterspell prevents me from losing life to Fire Covenant? 6) Counterspell on Fire Covenant 7) Another activation of Vilis All there activations of Vilis could have just been done under one activation, right? Just pay all mana and life at once. And to cast Fire Covenant at the end?

@@bartrogowski6631 you can use Vilis’ ability to bait interactions from your opponents and make them spend more spells by responding with more card draw triggered by life loss. You’re essentially responding to interaction with more and more card draw. This is why you run stuff like Children of Korlis in the deck too.

I pretty much play this exact deck but I use all the 1 cmc instant protection spells to cast on kaalia when they try to remove her during attack.

I cant tell at how how this deck is supposed to win. It only has 4 demons. A kaalia deck should only have creatures that are demons angles and dragons. The only way I see this deck winning is if you have the perfect opening hand.

You use demonic tutor to find vilis or razaketh. Then you get that demon into play with kaalia and WIN! I really mean win on the spot. This deck dosen't win by killing your opponents with combat damage. It is a turbo combo deck.

Maybe I'm dumb. But each combo you listed I have no idea how that does anything other than what the cards say. How does Leonin+animate dead make a 1 damage 3/3 card into a win condition?

With animat dead and leonin you creat a loop where the cat dies and comes back over and over infinitely. If you have any ETB or sac die effect in play you get infinit of those triggers.

The cat exiles the animate dead. Then it gets sacrificed making animate dead come back, targeting the cat. That's a loop

There are no stupid questions. Only questions that I miss. B.A.D stands for "Breach" . "Ad nauseam" . "Dockside". The main wincon is to assemble the leionic relic warden with animate dead and blood artist. This will creat a loop where you deal infinit loss of life. So what happens if they changed the rules on priority a little. What if the player whose turn it is has priority, except for everyone else the order does not matter for interracting with the board. Instead the other players can respond at anytime except whoever responds first will have their spell be put on the stack, rather than an order of priority which is fixed at the start of the game.

U need leonin in the grave animate dead in your hand and mayham devil on the field Cast animate dead targeting the leonin leonin trigger exile animate dead (leonin get sacrefised due to animate dead not bieng there anymore) mayham devil trigger (ping for one) animate dead will go back onto the battlefield since leonon left and repeat
