Me watching the DCM Saw in half "YOU CAN DO THAT????"

Yep! The issue is that Saw in Half doesn't give haste, so you need a way to get around that if you want to win that turn. (The 1/1 token Dualcasters don't go away, though.) But if you can take advantage of another spell on the stack to do so, it works!

Everett could have had 2! Underworld Beaches on the battlefield at once. In EDH That’s hilarious. Also, what a weird and cool win. I never thought about how powerful March of X cycle would be with a big grip and Breach. One pip and toss a few cards to target boardwipe. That combo was also inspired. Was the something he came up with on the spot, or was that one of the deck’s primary goals?

To conserve mana for a lack of better words. While it could’ve been a good play, it’s still not optimal. Being able to cast opposition agent before his turn is better than playing a land and passing to then get someone with it. He essentially did it so he could also cast stuff on his turn

I could not imagine running a card like adnaus in a deck whose commander specifically requests that you run creatures that are three out of the six highest mana value tribes in edh. (Giants praetors and eldrazi being the other two that come to mind, please let me know if there’s other tribes that are specifically and almost exclusively high mana costing creatures because i like that kind of bomb in a game.)

Most competitive lists I’ve seen only run 3-4 Demons. Kaalia is plan B and just acts like a massive ritual to get the combo pieces on board. Pretty low cc count for Ad Naus,

this might be a dumb question, but does the godo+helm of the host combo work against any boardstate? because as i see it, if every opponent has at least a 3/3 to block the equipped godo then it wont work?

you don't even need to attack with the original Godo, the helm triggers just going in combat step, eventually the blocking creatures are going to die from combat damage, you are making a new not legendary godo every time

If every opponent has an indestructible 3/3 then it won't work. Or if an opponent has a ghostly prison effect that will likely also stop the attacks. So in short, no, it won't work against every board state. However, just a regular 3/3 will not be enough, as the copies of godo will eventually get through.

You attack with the copy since it has haste. You get infinite copies, so the 3/3 would die. The deck also packs hammer of Nazhan and argentum armor. So if there is something like a ghostly prison, you can destroy it. Also, the copies don’t die at the end of turn. So even if they managed to survive, they would have to win before you got to your next turn.

The deck does use the commander, but this is cEDH where you are playing with a different mindset then casual where if you can win without the commander then do so

The deck does use kaalia sometimes. It cheats out razaketh, vilis and rune-scarred demon. If you just wanted the colors you would play tymna and either jeska or rograkh.

It kind of makes sense? I imagine he let Godo resolve because he saw he didn’t have enough life to make 5 red through treasonous ogre. Countering Godo wouldn’t been better, but I don’t think he was expecting a desperate ritual. Overall it’s still poor treat assessment
