Adrian, The shutter hold open or “press for open and press for closed” is an optional setting on my camera , could be the same for yours? The remote would only be able to activate as set on the camera as you stated. Useful video thanks.

What type of connector plugs into the camera, for example is it 3.5 /2.5mm
