Obsidian Rose are always sneaking under the radar. being able to add 6" to your Dark Lance Raiders alone is a winner for me, especially now when you can actually transport units with the characters you want for the buffs

I know Wyches punch better than Kabalites, DT Wracks shoot better than Kabalites, custom Kabals aren't as good as named Kabals, and 10 points Splinter Racks multiplied across 3 Raiders aren't 'points optimal', but goddamn is it fun just reenacting Dawn of War Soulstorm and just having Kabalites go *brrrrrrrrrr* with exploding 6s to hit with extra AP on 6s to Wound. Also, Kabalites just look cooler than Wyches and Wracks.

Never tried to do leadership shenanigans, but the combination of poisoned tongue -1 to combat attrition, grisly trophies and Dark Creed, backed by your Incubi and phantasms do their leadership-connected abilities more efficient is pretty entertaining from how it looks

The problem is the plethora of ways most enemies ignore it, from just being fearless to ATSKNF... I love making Marines flee, but it still underwhelming (compared to just take something to kill them better)

Great video and great content! I’m a drukhari main, and as a new player still in the very beginnings of now learning how to play the tabletop after having taken probably six months or so obsessively getting into lore content and collecting minis for the armies I’ve been collecting so far. It’s quite interesting that I decided to get into the army unknowingly getting a new codex to drop with amazing to rules, because I’ve always loved dark elder, thus deciding to choose them to learn despite them beings smeggin terrible on the tabletop at the time with people saying they’re also hard to learn as a first army but the rule of cool won out and I’m glad to almost almost an actual essentially full 2000 ish pt army of them now ;) just need to finish the painting for them! I’m also collecting a bunch of harls, craftys, and the ynnaris so hopefully we can work out some different lists there for dealing with things when everyone figures out how to deal with my gaggles of raiders...! But yeah, appreciate your vids, as I said. I’m also for the second series (because of being able to afford it now) a new patreon

I disagree about obsidian rose. I think Lawrence for tabletoptactics has a fair point in that a straight kabal packed with as much dark light as possible is insane strong and quite possibly the most powerful build you can get if you add drazhar and incubi.

Yeah, 12" blast pistols, 24" blasters, +3" double tap rapid fire, super cheap kabalite warriors (basically a horde with 4+ armor and 3+ BS), reroll to wound is better than reroll to hit (Black Heart) on trueborn... Underrated Kabal: great for Raiders, Ravagers, Razorwings/Voidravens, MSU Kabalite squads and better than Black Heart for bigger squads (because of +6" range on top of 1 reroll to wound).

what i find really cool with the custom kabal: deadly deceivers in combination with grizzly trophys and phantasm grenade launchers. where you want to stay close, lock in melee, but then get away to shower the enemy with mortal wounds and incubi which give fight lasts way easier with the enemy models having 2 lower leadership values.

If I were starting Drukhari, I would probably go for Kabals just because I can build their basic troops with helmet heads. Yes, I would pick based on how much I don't like painting faces and how bad I am at it.

With the nerf to raiders and wyches the points cost has favored feet. Specifically, a Coven soup hero hammer list. BH Archon runs nicely with Ancient Evil and a couple beefed up Succubi. You know... Heroic and fight first.

Your mathematical reasoning of why rerolling wounds is better than rerolling hits is incorrect. It doesn't matter the order of hitting or wounding, the % increase of damage is the same. Rerolling wounds is only better than rerolling hits if its harder to wound than it is for hit. like 3+ to hit, and 4+ to wound a T8 model with Dark lance for example. For anyone interested, rerolling increases dmg by (roll-1)/6 (where roll can be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Actually I think it IS better for a SINGLE re-roll provided you're firing more than one shot. Not sure what I said in the video (I might have spoken wrong then to be honest), but with lots of shots you're generally likely to utilise the re-roll either way, and the wound roll IS more powerful than the hit roll (as you have already hit). It'll be of similar power on single raider dark lances (depending on what you wound on) so if I said that I was incorrect, sorry!

You are half correct, the main reason is reroll wound is after you know 100% you hit, where rerolls to hit might still end up with failed wound attempt

Cmon Auspex, no talk about synergies between the 3? Realspace raids? BlackHeart, RedGreif, Phophets. These are the "best". This is what you will see most in the meta.

@@jdtatum4176 i dont know. I've been trying to get my head around it. But the cult of strife units or the dark lance/blaster spam are usually just too effective at what they do wich always steers me away from taking other coven units. And i totally get how people see haemonculus as an unnecessary tax for a realspace raid detachement and rather go the 3 patrols route for the extra 2CP. But if you say you can make them work. I'm really interested in what your thoughts/tactic are on the other Coven units.

@@ronnyrdr6553 I don't think Covens are very good right now. I think they can be with the right set up and spam, but I think there are better ways to play Druhkari. They are a rather small tax unit that is relatively durable. I think you'll see players satisfied with throwing 10 upgraded wracks in a raider with Haemonculous. Leave it on the back field obj and forget about it. Between the vehicle and the Prophets buffs, that unit becomes fairly hard to move. They're no Termniators, but given your opponents will likely have more pressing units to deal with, I doubt they waste the fire power. 300 points is pretty bad for a single dark lance, but its pretty good for a single objective. 10W at T5 with invul, fnp, and ignore first wound per phase? And thats after you bust their tank.

Drukhari have less than half of the unit selection options that armies like marines have and you think it's unfair that they can have cult, covens and kabal in the same army when that's exactly what the army does and how the faction behaves in the lore.
