Kabir, get yourself a 50 gallon drum and make yourself a bbq pit or buy one, if you can. put coal on one side and the meat on the other side. The meat side should have a tray of water under it and the coal should be on the other side. Close the lid but monitor the cooking every hour until you learn how it's working. Cook meat, pork, for 4 hours and then put in a tin foiil container and add a litttle water and cook for another hour, while covered with foil. You can do this yourself, it just take a lettle practice.

@@BeboRulz I live in NY and have never heard of a New York BBQ or anything like that. To us it's just BBQ. We rub our briskets, ribs, and shoulders with a spice blend that's normally pepper, salt, garlic, brown sugar, and paprika, then smoke it low and slow for 6-12 hours and then eat. Or add vinegar and ketchup based BBQ sauce to the ribs while smoking. Some people marinate(esp. poultry) with vinegar, oil, peppercorns, and garlic, then grill on high. Or we just grill sausages as is. And I have no clue how this is any different to anywhere else besides some places add jalapenos and chilis and a mustard based BBQ sauce.
@bf5175 Жыл бұрын
@@BeboRulz They differ on cuts of meat, the wood it is smoked over, the seasonings added to the rub, and the importance of sauce. Central Texas, for instance is very traditional. The rub is generally just salt and pepper and the wood is generally Post Oak. (Most purists in central Texas consider BBQ sauce a crutch for people who dry out their meat.) Kansas City is basically just any smoked meat drowned in BBQ sauce. Carolina is famous for whole hog BBQ, they don't really do beef BBQ there.

That's easy $150-200 in food there. the smallest rib is usually about 1.5-2lbs so they always like $40-50 alone. Brisket usually $18-25 /lb these days and everything else goes by the lb (pound) except sausage which you can normally buy by the link. Usually me and 3 buds are looking to spend $90-140 when we go out for bbq but on my own i'm spending $25-30 with a decent mix of brisket, sausage, and another meat (turkey or pork rib). Sides are prob $3-5 individual or you can buy by the pint or quart. Most places you can order a single, 2 meat, 3 meat plate and spend $15-20-25 with a side or two.

My estimated cost: $340 The meat weight is just a guess, could easily be more. Could easily be less. I have per lbs weight listed. The ribs (beef and pork) come by the bone, sausages come by the link. In other words, you can't get half a beef rib. Beef Ribs: ~2.5lbs * $35 = 87.5 Brisket: ~2lbs * $35 = 70 Pork Ribs: ~2lbs * $30 = 60 Turkey: ~1lbs * $30 = 30 Sausage: ~2/3 lbs * $27 = 18 7 sides * $8.5 = 59.5 1 desserts * $9 = 9 4 corn bread * $1.5 = 6

A big secret of "The Best Texas BBQ." It's what you do in your own back yard. There are so many ways to make tiny variations in flavor you have to experiment until you hit what you really like. The basics are easy 15+/_ hours and wood of your choice. Rubs, wood type, etc. are all personal taste choices (along with a dozen or wo other variables). If you can't do that, almost any bbq joint will do, they are all pretty good, just different.

I live in Texas and eat at Terry Black's pretty regularly. The quality of the food has always been exactly like this, although, it's usually a bit better around lunch time since everything is coming straight off the smoker around that time. The meat is sold by the pound. According to their menu the beef ribs and the brisket are $35.98 a pound and the ribs come in at around a pound and a half each. The turkey and pork ribs are $29.98 per pound, and the sausage is $27 a pound. The sides are sold by volume with 5oz going for $3.98 but it looks like they got the sides in the pint size which is $8.50. It also looks like they got all the sides on offer so the total for the sides alone comes up to $59.50. Then they got two beef ribs which average 1.5 pounds each, a pound of brisket, a pound of ribs, a pound of sausage, and a pound of turkey. Which brings their total BEFORE tax to $290.38 not counting drinks. Texas has around a 10% sales tax so the full total of the food alone would be around $319.38. Or they could have gotten the large family pack deal which is 6lbs of meat and 5 sides for $280.

when they first bite into the brisket when they finally get into it, the very first thing they try, you can absolutely pinpoint the exact moment their souls briefly leave their body

At my local BBQ place in Northeast Texas a 3 meat plate with choice of 2 sides is $24 American. When I get a 3 meat plate I order smoked Brisket, Pork and Turkey along with fryed Okra and Mac&Cheese and I need a to go box cause i cant eat it all in one sitting, I have to take what i cant eat home for later.

11:40 for both trays and I'm no expert but I really am trying to answer whatever question that comes, because I think it is so hilarious when I watch these videos. Everything that they got probably was less than $100 real talk. In Texas barbecue is something we could do at home everyone who is a native Texan, if you can't barbecue, is like you would be ashamed right so when you go out BBQ is not like wildly expensive even those big ass ribs lol and people often eat barbecue so it can't be wildly expensive. But depending on the place you go to and if it's owned by "country" whites (it has to a specific type white who know how to smoke & season) or black owned. Then you have so many other types of BBQ that you can try on by other cultures, korean, Columbian, African, brazilian, Mexican and many others. So usually It has to feed a big family & usually a big meal like that is pretty cheap.

I do like cornbread. I like mine sweet, crispy and a 1:1 of cornmeal to flour. I Easy to make. Cornmeal, flour, milk, sugar, egg, and butter. I also add Vanilla and Almond extract and make it in a cast iron pan. I've made it so often that I only use one utensil-a spatula.

Kabir, you can order a whole brisket from Franklin’s BBQ (considered for many years the best BBQ in Texas) and they will ship it to you with re-heating instructions for your oven.

My husband and i went to Terry Black's a couple weeks ago. That tray they had? Easily $200+. They do it by pound, those ribs are $36/lb, brisket is a similar price, the sides are like $8.50 a pint, sausage was like $27/lb, its insane. BUT. THE TASTE IS WORTH THE PRICE. And the leftovers are just as good as they are originally, just pop them in the toaster oven or regular oven and reheat at 325 Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. I swear.

OH Kabir, you have NO idea how freaking amazing the aroma of a BBQ is! All it takes is 1 whiff of Beef, Pork and/or Chicken or even turkey on the grill (I recommend charcoal grill for that rich smoky flavor) and 1 little taste of any with spices, BBQ sauce or hot sauce with any side you like (corn on the cob, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet peas, biscuits or rolls) and you're HOOKED!!! 😋😋😋

I totally agree with your comment about Michelin starred restaurants. I hate these so-called posh restaurants that charge an arm and a leg for a teeny bit of food that I can’t even identify half the time. One should never go away hungry from a restaurant where they just dropped a load of money. Give me hearty food over froufrou food any day of the week!

When BBQ is done correctly and with care, there is honestly no better food on earth, imo.
