“It’s really a song for anyone who feels disenfranchised or disenchanted or alone or weary. It’s for the young or old gay person struggling to come out; it’s for the young kid being bullied; it’s a song for the human condition and spirit. It’s a song to know that you don’t walk alone. It’ll all be alright.” - Kacey Musgraves liner notes

To that one person that disliked, I hope eventually you will come to love this song as much as all of us. If not, that’s alright too. But you’re missing out, my friend. Truly missing out on a true blessing.

Great "old school" song from a woman with heart. Alot of us baby boomers remember female vocalists from 1960s-1970s with a softness and sweetness that is sadly lacking with todays pissed of womens movement which has almost destroyed traditional male-female roles. Glad to see a beautiful young lady with the speacial touch most men really love and hold dear. Way to go Ms Musgraves!!!

Maybe not nervous, maybe fighting tears. She has said in several interviews that this was the last song of hers that her grandmother heard before she passed away, and that it was her grandmother's favorite song she ever wrote.
