For what it (my opinion)'s worth... I got up in the middle of the night last week because I couldn't sleep. So I turned on the TV, and SAW THIS! I was mesmerized! I'd never heard of her before! - And even though I was groggy, and thought that the words were "Snow Bird", The song and melody stuck in my head, and I slept like a cat! I almost didn't listen to Kacey Musgraves' song, since I don't do country and I was pretty sure this wouldn't change my mind. Plus, I didn't know who she was. But the song had a James Taylor-eque sound for the first few chords ... so ... I kept listening ... all the way to the end! I loved the lyrics, the vocals, the instrumentation, the subtle banjo, the strings, the change in the song when the verse about Beijing starts ... really, the whole thing is wonderful. One night I couldn't sleep and was jumping about on KZbin to try and relax. How I stumbled on Ms Musgraves is forgotten. But I have listened to so many of her songs now and I'm addicted. Like many others, I'm not a country fan but this is so very different. The band support her so discretely. Fabulous.

No, the guitar arrangement and the banjo is definitely country. If you listen to Taylor Swift's acoustic versions of her songs from 1989 and Lover, the guitar in them don't sound as country and the tabs and accents Kasey uses when playing acoustic guitar.

A, Cadd9, G, D(variation; 554030) Strum Pattern - ↑↓↑↓↑↓↑ SUPER SHORT Bridge after Second Chorus - Cadd9 and Em Hope this helps out! Almost right! I think your videos are great for players out there who are beginners, but just wanted to provide a little clarification :) For most of the song (for the intro and for parts where Kasey sings) the progression is actually: Asus2, Em, G, D(variation; 554030) where Asus2 is the same chord shape as A with the 2nd string open instead of on the 2nd fret. In parts where she doesn't sing, it's where the Cadd9 comes in, instead of the Em chord :) Have a great day dude!
