These boats are up near the top of my list for sure. I wish I could express how dam nice it is to see a boat well presented. This boat deserves your proper description. I get so tired of the same 3 adjectives used over and over by brokers. And those nut jobs that make an entire production of them opening drawers and cabinets as if we need proof they work. So nice.

Thanks Mike! If the lottery ever came in, this would be on my short list for sure. So much comfort, yet so sea worthy, and my wife and I could easily handle the boat without needing a full crew.

Thanks Randy! I was guilty of that with some of my earlier videos, but I always try and listen and learn from feedback and shake my videos up a little to keep them of interest to everyone. Now I only open doors and cabinets etc if there is something significant to show behind them. Thanks for watching, and welcome to my channel!

Nice that you show your self to us now I now to how I type this text I wish you also a happy new year for 2022. Hi Garnock! Happy New Year from one of your subscribers! Keep up the great work! My girlfriend and I are looking to live onboard when we start our retirement (5 years away) and these types of long range yachts really appeal to us. Thank you for taking the time to film this Kady Krogen, we are also looking at Princess Viking and boats that are more depreciated.....since we haven't won the lottery either! So, like you have done previously, if you find a quality boat that can make trips up and down the ICW we are all eyes! Have a great and prosperous 2022! We will continue to support your efforts here on KZbin!

Thanks Paul! Love the support and feedback. I still have some more new boats to share from Ft Lauderdale Boat Show that might be of interest to you including Back Cove 390, Sabre 45 Saloon Express, and Sabre 58. I am off to Daytona boat show this week, St Pete boat show next week, and Jacksonville boat show the following week. They might not be within budget for me to buy, but we can but dream!! I still have brokers lining up brokerage boats to film but the market seems to be drying up these days. Not many new listings coming online, but will do my best to add to the mix as soon as possible. Thanks again for the support.

Sorry, for some reason this comment got missed. I stayed at Staybridge Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport - West. It was very modern, very clean, and very friendly. In South Florida traffic, I think it took about 30 mins to get to the parking garage, and then a 5 minute walk to the water taxi. I would probably stay here again in October if I come back down for the show later this year.

Concerned about the aluminum fuel tank longevity as opposed to Fleming’s molded fiberglass tanks. Since the tanks are port and starboard, concerned about vessel stabilization once fuel is depleted.
@GarnockReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comments. I think all tanks have pros and cons. One downside I saw once on a fiberglass molded tank is that while they may hold up better long term, if you do need to replace them for whatever reason, it's a nightmare of a job. As to port and starboard tanks, on a boat like this, you should be able to transfer fuel from one tank to another so both tanks are always level. Last thing you would want is for one side to be 100 gallons heavier than the other 😉

@@GarnockReviews most of the “Down East” style fishing trawlers are nice but for me it’s about hull efficiency. Being able to to do 7-9 knots for economy or semi plane at 14-20 + knots. DeFever, Mickelson, and Mainship are among a few that are fast cruising trawlers.
@GarnockReviews Жыл бұрын
@Zone Television I like the Beneteau Swift line for that reason too. Add Grand Banks East Bay to the list as well 😉
@ZoneTelevision Жыл бұрын
@@GarnockReviews I wonder if the Beneteau Antares 9.80 was a the “pre” swift trawler. It seems to have the same hull but I’m not certain. I’m wondering if you can get Trawler economy with a boat like that.

We are looking at similar boats to this 44"-54". Initial idea is to do the great loop and then move it to the med a couple of years later. Realistically we were going to have the boat shipped via container and were getting quotes in the 25k range from Lauderdale to Southern Spain. Do many people actually use a boat like this to cross the Atlantic?
@GarnockReviews2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a fantastic few years worth of cruising. These boats are popular with those looking at both the Loop and the Atlantic. Here's one such article from another Kadey Krogen www.powerandmotoryacht.com/boats/crossing-an-ocean-on-a-kadey-krogen-42 I personally wouldn't rule out crossing the pond in this one if I had the time and money. There used to be cruising groups would help arrange a mini flotilla so that should something go wrong, you didn't feel so alone. Not sure if they still do that or not. When I was a kid, my Dad wanted us to do it from Europe to America and it was highlighted that it wasn't meant as a race. Unfortunately, he couldn't get the time off work he needed for the trip.
@Jon-mv2ck2 жыл бұрын
@@GarnockReviews Hi thanks for the reply. Yes there are still the yearly crossings from southern spain and the canary islands/cape verde. Friends recently did one with a group of about 300. I think they are more focused on sailing but will take a look to see.

Hey Steven. I found out there was a washer and dryer after I made the video. It's in the door between the master cabin and the little office area.

At 15'9" that's still 3" too tall for the western Erie Canal, but that would really only be a concern if you wanted to stay within the USA and _not_ transit any portion of Canada. That said, it's a LOT shorter than I thought K-K built any of their trawlers! I think that if I wanted it for purely ocean work I'd go with paravanes for stabilization, for mixed use I'd see about squeezing in a Seakeeper or equivalent. Did you give a MSRP or guesstimate on the 52? That would be of interest if the Lottery gods decided to smile on me.
@GarnockReviews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for such a detailed response. I am with you in that the low height was a pleasant surprise to me as well. When I walked up to the boat, I thought for sure the Loop was not even on the table, regardless of route. I also love the fact that it looked like in 30 mins or less, with only basic hand tools, I could bring the arch etc down myself. I am sure this opens far more doors to people looking to buy and expand the market for them. As to price, these boats are so custom bespoke when new, it is hard to give a price as no 2 boats are the same. The layout can change, engines from single to twin, flybridge or not, hard top or not, stabilizers or not, generator spec, and of course the electronics. This one for sure had me checking my Powerball numbers but so far........I am only 6 numbers short!!

I've watched a lots of reviews on M.V. the past few years. They often tell you the distance you can travel at certain speeds. And that is informative. But when making those long hauls. How is fuel consumed by the generators? That is never figured in. The slower you go the longer the generators have to run.
@GarnockReviews Жыл бұрын
Great point. I like that in recent years solar is becoming more popular on extended cruisers. That helps to keep the diesel aimed more at the engine, than running generators.

@GarnockReviews2 жыл бұрын
Niels, thanks for watching and for the feedback. I just took another look at the manufacturers page at www.kadeykrogen.com/tour/krogen-52/ and stabilizers are available for this boat if the buyer wants. "The machinery and components we employ on the 52, and indeed every Krogen model, reflect our deep understanding that the open ocean is no place for inferior products. Highlights include John Deere engines, Northern Lights generators, ABT TRAC thrusters and stabilizers, ESI fuel-polishing systems and U.S. manufactured Cook gelcoat. All of these elements will ensure your Krogen 52 will take you the distance."
