This man is a true inspiration. I am a guitar player and had surgery on my fingers due to arthritic bone spurs. One finger is worse than it was before the surgery... but when you are a passionate musician, you find a way to play.

Indeed he was one of the greats. His story is very positive for any ailing musician out there.

Indeed, he is great. His playing in articulation is amazing. It is good to hear Bryon is still alive.

I find this very very frustrating. He tells us he had the problem but doesn't explain how it went away. What he does tell us is too vague to be helpful but I am very pleased he found a way round it.

I'm so sad. I got early symptoms of thumb arthritis. I can only imagine what this guy suffered thru.

I have osteoarthritis in both of my pinkies. It can be painful to play and I have to be careful of technique, but I will not stop playing. Some days are better than others. In the case of arthritis, I'm not sure this advice applies "You should never feel pain. If you do stop." In fact, while I do what I can to negate the pain, I also expect it and play through it. Arthritis is a difficult disease to prognosticate in terms of long-term progression, so I'm hoping mine plateaus. I love playing too much to stop. And I also don't think that playing with some pain actually makes the arthritis worse, but am open to any comments.
