From what we can understand Kafka's kaiju is primal but at the same time from what it said: "Kill. Kaiju". Looks like it was triggered by the pressence of No. 2 a took over because it felt in danger. It sounds like is conscious that it wants to kill other kaiju.

It's actually pretty much that, no.2 aura is what triggered the take over, cause if you think about it, kafka was pretty much defensive against hoshina too, but didn't lost control and as no.9 said, kafka is a kaiju that doesn't act like one. So the real problem here is that no.8 identifies Isao as another kaiju because of his weapons.

The auto mode actually said, "Kill, Kill, Kaiju, Kill" So I'm thinking it's against kaijus and since Kafka said "My body is reacting to him like a kaiju" I'm guessing that's why.

Not even clear in the manga yet, seems like #8 are like Godzilla. It doesn't care about human but it will attack any kaiju it see as threat to his dominance. Doesnt happen when fighting #9 because Kafka actually want to kill it. Here maybe Kafka was ready to die by that blow and #8 take over as survival mechanism. Also because Kafka is contradicting its instinct to fight #2 (isao)

Actually the little thing want to kill all kaijus but it sees the president as kaiju 2 so it went crazy

It's bad?....Kaiju says "Kill Kill Kaiju Kill" I think it wants to kill Kaiju and because the commander looks like a Kaiju to it and Kafka doesn't want to kill the comander, it said screw it.

The idea was to push Kafka to the limit to see wht is gonna take control Kafka or the primitive Kaiju side trying to survive even if that means killing humans.. Also the Kaiju inside Kafka for some reason it wanna kill Kaijus it can feel Kaiju's prescence in the weapon that director has on, so this is most likely the reason it is saying kill him to Kafka. But we will have to wait if Kafka takes the control he knows is a human attacking him and not gonna kill him if Kaiju side takes control it probably would kill director no matter he is human the way Kaiju sees it is being attacked by a Kaiju.

I haven't read the manga or seen anything other than this anime so there are no spoilers here, only speculation. I think the bug Kafka swallowed wants to fight kaiju, or maybe just hide from them. When it first appeared it said, "Found you," just before it forced itself down Kafka's throat. I thought it had chosen him specifically, perhaps because it witnessed Kafka protecting his kohai from a kaiju? Maybe it thought Kafka had the necessary resolve to protect it from kaiju, or to fight against them? I assume it has no power on its own and uses a host as a vehicle to fight or evade other kaiju. I also think it was triggered by the energy of kaiju no. 2 (Shinomiya-pappa's weapon) being present. Either it recognised kaiju no. 2 as being too powerful for Kafka to defeat if he was left in control, or it realised Kafka was holding back (because he doesn't want to kill Shinomiya-pappa in front of his daughter) and decided it had to take the reigns or it would be killed along with its host. I look forward to finding out in season 2. I'm quite annoyed I wasn't here to watch season 1 with you as you uploaded. Annoyed that I never even saw your channel in my recommendations until you uploaded Frieren, despite you having reacted to several series I have watched muliple reactions to. That's why I'm commenting on an old post anyway: I think it helps you with the algorythm, right? I don't require a reply as I don't really expect you to even see this comment. If you do see it... I really enjoy your content so far. I like the way you discuss and consider the story and characters. You miss a LOT cos you're talking while it happens, but somehow come up with all the right questions. I wish the stupid YT algorythm had introduced you to me earlier! You're just what I love to see.

For me, this was one of the worst cliffhangers I've ever seen haha. Also, in my opinion Kafkas body was pushed to the limit so the Kaiju took over. I also am very interested in that Fly Kaijus motives! Love you guys channel!!

If this is only a 12 episode season that will be trash. This part of the story isn't a climax it's more buildup for a payoff that follows. The fight may be concluded next episode but there will be no narrative or thematic payoff. Kaiju number 9, what he's been doing, why he's doing it and the battle that ensues are the proper ending for a first season.
