I thought of a rule for the next shadow locke. Start out the same as this, each with premade decks, but if you win with a deck, make a change to it. Swap a card out for something else, change the ratios, add a big boss monster or combo that wasn't in it before. Something like that. As the series goes on, 2 of the same deck might go up against each other but be pretty different.

The heroes deck needed Skyscraper. That was one of the clutchest cards for Jaiden. Pretty sure if Deion had that, he wouldn't have had to fear the Blue Eyes. Great video still. I mean, yeah, Heroes are bad but they are even worse if you have only two potential fusions of which the strongest is 2400ATK. And you need three cards to bring it out. Monarchs do the same thing, just way better, because all they need is one tribute to hit the field. Even Blue-Eyes is objectively better since it only needs two cards to get a 3k monster out on the field. I get that the decks aren't supposed to be all the same strength (well, that's obvious), but I feel when constructing, it was too focused on simple destruction cards to deal with these monsters instead of giving more options so that they don't brick as often as they do. Giant Rat and Mother Grizzly are nice ideas, but if all they can get out are themselves and one other card, I feel, they are not really that strong.

Could've had more live poly targets if Heroes played Cydra's too; ie into Cyber-twin. Hell back then almost every deck played Cydra because it was a good free beatstick on release. And even if they opted to not go the further fusion gx route with cydra's, king of the swamp & sparkman makes a bigger beater into shining flare wingman. Missed opportunity fr

I don't get what's fun about playing a deck that has to draw one of two potential cards to out a 3k beater that the opponent can bring to the field easily three times. And then it's not like the other cards are complete pushovers that can't beat you down on their own.

Watching this duel made me realize what is the main issue with this Heores deck in this format. Sure 3 cards for a 2400 atk main board is a bad strategy in itself but the deck really could've been ok if it was one of the few decks that had Mirror Force, Exiled Force, Heavy Storm etc. Like why does the Blue Eyes have Exiled Force? The Blue Eyes strategy is strong enough it doesn't need all the generic removal cards too. If stronger decks didn't all have all the removal this Heores deck could've had some legs. As in you end board is not that strong but you have ways to deal with stronger boards so there's some balance. Now Blue Eyes just plays Mirage Dragon or Luster dragon and that Heores deck is dead. No monster that cna punch over the mentioned bar the fusions in which case you're going 3 for 1 and leaving yourself open for all the generic removal Blue eyes also have. It's just dumb. xD This makes Deion beating Dino with it once even more hillarious. xD That deck is awful, it shouldn't be able to win.

I think the main problem with E-Heroes, even the fusions in this format, is that they rely heavily on external E-Hero support cards to really function on a level that Blue-Eyes and other decks are in this format. It’s a shame the first print of Skyscraper was CRV cause the deck could actually stand a chance and benefit from it given it’s only running Flame and Shock as their fusions. That ATK boost would help out immensely alone.

The Hero deck should have had Witch of the Black Forest over Mother Grizzly (Mother Grizzly ended up clashing with King of the Swamp's discard effect) and Raigeki (it _kind of_ fits with Sparkman and Thunder Giant), two Fusion Weapons, two more MSTs, and two United We Stands over the three Hero Signals, one of the Jar of Greeds, and three Dust Tornados. It would still have an issue with removal, but then it would at least have the raw power to beat over most of the 1900 and 3K beaters running around this format.

The Blue Eyes deck Rhym was running was the best deck of the series. The element hero deck was butchered. Dion didn't have the blue eyes deck Rhym had this episode, because it's bulletproof. I'm surprised this video wasn't 20 mins after seeing the cards

One thing I learned from watching multiple series from Doto, Sam, and Rhyme is that most of the rules in these challenges are poorly implemented. I understand that decks aren't supposed to be equal, but some decks are completely overkill like Blue-Eyes having Mirage and 1900 beaters plus 15 destruction cards, while decks like Heroes don't have any of those even though Jaden in the actual anime had those cards. It makes no sense and half the rules in the other challenges aren't much better lol.

I don't know why they we're calling blue eyes just an anime deck. Its got mirror force, torrential tribute, lighting vortex, 3 rageki break, exiled force, soul exchange, MST, stamping, 4 kaibaman searchers. You could turn one open 2 blue eyes, with kaibaman and premature I dont think any deck has better removal in this series, the deck is very strong, Its only problem is the possibility of bricking.

“It’s only problem is bricking.” As someone who runs only really runs Blue-Eyes Tribe decks, because I really like my Archtype. Yes. However, with how my decks are built, I can stall for literal TURNS upon TURNS. Made somebody turn three rage quit on MD the other day, cause I bricked, but I had board interactions for days. I run one copy of each of the “non-destructive” mirror forces (storm, quake, drown), one Attack Guidance Armor, one Saku, a Magical Cylinders and Magical Cylinder, a Raigeki Brake and a Solemn Judgement. Usually enough to keep me alive and in the game.

@@SomaCruz500 So...how is bricking a "problem" if you have a contingency in place for not drawing well? Bricking means if you don't draw well you lose majority of the time. It's not really a brick deck if you can play around not drawing what you want. That just makes it a good deck lol. My point is Rhymes deck isn't a brick deck either, because his deck has so many contingencies in place for opening with a bad hand, or drawing into blue eyes, it's literally shown in the video.

The Heroes deck just doesn’t really have any removal power to help keep it’s more weaker monsters safe. Meanwhile Blue Eyes not only has high Atk level 4s like Luster, battle protection with Mirage, but ALSO a bunch of removal cards to just mess up an opponent’s field. Widely unbalanced lol

The issue with Relinquished in this format, as Rhyme pointed out two episodes ago, is that Relinquished as a mirror match, at least in this format, just ends in a very long wait for somebody to deck out. Relinquished's main purpose is to get out Thousand-Eyes Restrict; not only was Chaos already doing that, but as seen in Episode 2, Thousand-Eyes Restrict vs Thousand-Eyes Restrict is a total lockdown for BOTH sides.

Bare bones, friend-o, there wasn’t as much shut down support for Thousand Eyes back in the day like you seem to think as the best workaround back then was burn damage. Stay delusional though, I guess? You’ll never see the type of support you’re talking about in the decks we see here, unless they up the tier level, and if they do that, it’s not classic GOAT format. Which, as Rhyme mentioned, hard stops prior to the release of Cybernetic Revolution, which would be where the support you’re talking about started around. The only real options in this format are flip effects that force TER face down to shut off the effect. Plus, Relinquished as an archetype is pretty weak in its own right to begin with. It’s a do nothing deck at the end of the day that can be pretty easily Uno Reversed into non-existence by a non-Reliquished/TER deck. The only outs in GOAT with these decks are staples, swap control effects, flip facedown effects, banish and destruction effects. Which none of the decks aside from Blue-Eyes and Coin Flip ran those effects consistently.
