A funny little story no one asked for regarding scents: My fiancé and I had made bacon for breakfast and the smell was really bothering me, so I cracked the window, sprayed a pet odor febreeze. It was pretty strong so I only used a bit and was walking out of the room to let the smell settle, when fiancé walks in looking panicked asking if I sprayed anything. I said yes. He takes a big sigh of relief, saying he thought he smelled something fruity out of nowhere, which is a sign of having a stroke. Poor guy thought the big one was coming, but alas, he lives to see another day.

22:55 not that cheating is good but if you are the one that raises the kid, it’s your kid. My family found out recently that my half sister isn’t my dads and she was 17 just because it hurts that her mom cheated doesn’t mean my sister isn’t my sister or my dads kid. This man is the type that wouldn’t love his adopted children

Christian's voice is hilarious and good. The self-deprecation feels ucky tho. You don't gotta bully yourself. If someone else is bullying you, let us know. Lean into loving yourselves as much as we do, Judgies 💛

The fact that the woman needed to ask someone else if she would be the asshole if she slept with her friend shows she knows it would be wrong. I hope her husband hears this and divorces her. I don’t believe the whole “ we can just have sex and it won’t affect our emotions”. The whole thing screams that she knows she has feelings for him.

Lasanga can be considered cake if you consider frosting to be part of the cake. The pasta is made of flour and eggs, no different than a cake, and you can consider the sauce and cheese its frosting, which you generally spread inside and outside the cake.

Ngl I didn’t like the implications of ricks “I don’t have that problem” as if it’s a problem and not a real thing people go through. I personally am the same as Erica in that regard but my roommate is not. If anyone thinks they have a problem, go to the dr. But if this is your only issue you’re more than likely okay bc it is in fact normal.

The other thing about the spit story is that dude is insistent on spitting in their food, instead of listening to her very valid feelings. He could theoretically just spit in his food but he seems to like that power. PS. If you are uncouth it means you have poor manners. My family likes to joke about words where you never hear the root word- funnily enough such as uncouth, we'll jokingly use couth. Incognito is another one, can you be cognito?

disagree on the paternity test story, w/ me and my partner, when ever there is insecurity or worry (no matter how silly or unfounded) we take it seriously, discuss at length, and do whatever necessary to clear the air (i.e. show message logs) because way we see it, as long as you are innocent why not do everything to help alleviate that worry and stop it from turning into a bigger issue or resentment? like some people just have anxiety or trauma and helping your partner past that is good! i really think the "toxic masculinity/progeny" interpretation is like as uncharitable and harsh as you could be, in all reality he probably just needs therapy like most people, but taking a test that hurts no one and probably helps him move past that anxiety and connect to his new children definitely does not instantly make him some big bad chauvinist pig. i feel like a lot of the reddit podcasts have a tendency to be a little harsher on the man in most stories and more ready to cast him in the negative light, and as an nb myself with plenty of bad experiences with men, i understand. i do however think it often falls into that trope of expecting men not to struggle with things like anxiety or trauma, like realistically there were no details to even imply any sort of malice on his end, didnt even say he is rude or difficult about it, so i feel this interpretation is just a bit harsh. would love to hear your opinions on this, have a good one gang!
@papasloan68992 жыл бұрын
Yea except for his anxiety/insecurity/trauma can be worked on and resolved through therapy without causing her anxiety/insecurity. But you’re saying she should take that insecurity on just to satiate his instead of him actually dealing with his in a way they does not cause anymore. That’s where it’s a misogynistic act, the woman should just accept that hurt and anxiety for the quick fix bandaid to a deeper issue the man has that should be resolved in therapy
@burgiegeorge2 жыл бұрын
It is not his wife's job to constantly have to reassure him. The real solution should be is therapy. Trust issues will deteriorate a relationship over time. As we see in this story, she is going online to ask for advice, because it's been weighing on her. It's his job to seek help and work through his own issues instead of putting that responsibility on her. These trust issues will also most likely stem into his relationship with his kids. Once your issues start affecting other people negatively, then there is no excuse for your behavior. Speaking as someone whose relationship with my, now husband, almost ended because I refused to get help for my own problems
@allyb35102 жыл бұрын
He just assumes his wife is unfaithful even when each time proof says otherwise But you don't see anything wrong with that. You don't see how that damages their relationship and will probably end with them divorcing. But that's not an issue right? His irrational fear- because yes at this point three kids in with the tests to prove they're his kids, it's irrational at this point- is his own issue. He should be seeking therapy and couples therapy because 100% she's gonna end up leaving him at some point if he doesn't get his own shit together.
@toothcruncher2 жыл бұрын
here’s the thing, though: it’s causing HER trauma, and HE isn’t addressing it. women are expected to grin and bear it through traumatic events, while men deliver trauma unto them, even, so men’s insecurities can be addressed. men should instead just go to therapy instead of forcing baseless paternity tests on their wives. this DOES hurt people: it hurts her. and he has made an environment where she feels like she just had to take it so she doesn’t hurt him. if it actually alleviated his anxiety to do the test, he wouldn’t have kept doing them. i’m glad you and your partner have it figured out between y’all, genuinely, but in this case between these two people, it’s sadly too far gone for that.
