It's this is just like what happened to Top Gear on the BBC. People watched the show mainly because of Clarkson, Hammond and May (the three hosts presenting it). As soon as the hosts left (one was sacked, so the others left too), the viewer ratings plummeted through the floor. I suspect Digital Rev may experience a similar phenomenon.

Kai, I want to say you are the reason I had the courage to get into photography as much as I did. To spend all my $ on a 6D And just go for it. Because of you I was able to see a passion that I wasn't aware I wanted to explore as much as I have. You've changed my life and I thank you for it. -Apart from that... My gf recently watched some of your digital rev videos and she agrees, you made the show. Your voice, style, etc. You are definitely one of the most amazing photographers I know of and in my eyes you'll always be famous. Now of course fame doesn't keep the lights on, but it does bring plenty of views to your station. I'm going to subscribe to your channel and if you ever come to los angeles please let me know! Hi Kai. Long story short - I decided to get a camera roughly a year ago in anticipation of the birth of my first child. Naturally I hit KZbin for reviews. Came across one of your DigitalRev videos. Doesn't matter which one it was. But from that point on, you lit up this fire in me that will only stop on the day I die. What started as something practical to simply capture snapshots of my son turned to full blown passion for all forms of photography, but especially street. To you, the master might be someone like Henri Cartier Bresson. My master is Kai Man Wong. Anyway, I want to wish you luck in your future ventures. No X Most times I get suggestions from 6 months to 6 years ago so yeah. I really didn't care for the show much after Alamby left but Kai kept me going then he moved and I knew the end was near but kept watching them. When it was many many episodes without him I just had enough and unsubbed them. I have now subbed this but I will say one thing about Kai and that is he can be a pretty bad douche bag at times especially to his elders. I complained about that years ago on one of his videos.

I always related DRTV to Top Gear and Kai is Clarkson. What happened to Kai is almost the same thing as what happened to Clarkson (minus the punching a producer). Kai gets onboard with DRTV, at that point, nothing people really cared about = Clarkson joins the BBC to host the rebooted Top Gear. He develops a strong chemistry with Lok and Alamby = Clarkson, Hammond, and May Viewership grows the more people see the character and the presence all of them have. Kai makes bold statements about cameras just as Clarkson makes bold, non-PC statements about anything. DRTV hits its peak with people waiting for that video to show up in their subscription list DRTV lets go of Kai = BBC sacks Clarkson. Sad really because they are the proverbial anchors to their respective shows. Kai and Clarkson are now off to greener pastures. If this goes anything like Clarkson, I'd expect Alamby and Lok to follow soon.

That is really sad news, first casey quits his vlogs, now you and drtv have parted ways, what is the world coming to?
