Don't throw away the third hand, it's great for wire tinning. The Weller holder looks great, think I'll get it. Thanks for all the vids, they're are great !

Unfortunately I can't buy through your links... but I want to say thank you so much. The through hole component holder is exactly what we need in our small production team, and without you I wouldn't have found it. So thank you soooo much !

With an elevated position, I find you do indeed avoid neck strain but I then find having no palm rests for delicate and precise work uncomfortable because my arms are raised and without support.

Really very informative! I was about to fall into PanaVise trap when I saw this video - and changed my mind in favor of Weller.

use painters tape or bluetac to hold components onto flipped boards. my left hand is not to steady so i need to place it on something firm. elevated might be good for neck strain but bad for shakey hands

Believe me: Once you have worked with one the shown PCB-holder you will never ever go back to anything inferior :-)

I have a similar pcb vice which was much cheaper than 83 Euros but does not have the component holder arm. I really cannot justify the price (for hobby work) of the one you show but it's nice.

Good video on the subject 👍 I liked this Weller PCB holder until i saw the price 😂 I think i'll go with the Pro'sKit SN-390 - 10 times cheaper and i'll mod it by adding a CNC cooling pipe helping hand on each side for cable holding... Much more price efficient for hobbyists 👌

@@KainkaLabs You mentioned vises beeing useless for diy electronics in the video, they are not, they are really good for soldering connectors on cables.

Wait for one of the next episodes of the "EMSHO"-series. I yesterday ordered a new "thing" that could be of interest for you. Has ATM a lead-time of 2-3 weeks so the video will come in about a month.

How does the Weller hold do with hot air?
@KainkaLabs
@KainkaLabs Жыл бұрын
Never tried it. It´s designed for through-hole component soldering. For hot-air/reflow you need different tools/holders

@@KainkaLabs can you recommend any? I'm pretty much a noob and hanging boards over table edges is getting ridiculous hehe.

can you confirm if the max height of the pcsa-1 and pcsa 2 really only 220mm on two 104mm boards? it looks bigger than that in all vids/pics I see. the pcsa-4 looks huge and the pcsa-2 would be perfect if it fit a little bigger than advertised
@KainkaLabs
@KainkaLabs 4 жыл бұрын
You can see all sizes/measures of the different models if you downloaf the "leaflet" for the PCSA-versiosn. www.ideal-tek.com/public/doc/PCSA-leaflet_Ideal-tek.pdf The msx. PCB-size depends on how many of the adjustable "middle-rails" (they call them "bridges") you use. The PCSAs come with one adjustable middle-rail standard, which splits the working-area into 2 regions. For example in the PCSA-1 you have either a fixed working are of 220x280mm (no middle-rail) or with one "middle-rail" you get 2 working areas with a max. length of 280mm and a vertical height of 208mm in total. So the PCB height could be a maximum of 104mm if the "middle-rail" is set to split the working-area in half for the PCSA-1 and PCSA-2 and 169mm for the PCSA-4. I will measure this but you can be pretty sure that the dimensions in the PDF are correct.

@@KainkaLabs Ok thanks. Yeah I read that but it just didn't look right to me. even the smaller one looks like it should be able to hold bigger than 220mm/104mm x2 from this video here. The pcbs you have loaded in this video look to be around 75mm just guessing and it looks like there is space for double that, so I would appreciate greatly if you could confirm.

You should simply search for "IDEALTEK PCB-Holder" at the usual worldwie distributor-suspects (Farnell, Digi-Key, RS-Online...). Or go tothe IDEALTEK homepage: www.ideal-tek.com/

"Vela"? You mean "Weller" :-) Farnell has it. Google the exact product name "Weller ESF120" and probably you will find a distributor in the US. They also sell their solder-stations worldwide so there should a way to get the PCB-holder also nearly everywhere in the world.
