Asymmetrical Note Well, I guess she isn't a very popular Vocaloid. She's not really best-selling like Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Hatsune Miku. MEIKO does have more of a realistic voice than the rest of the Vocaloids, the same as KAITO (and Luka.). MEIKO is the first female Japanese Vocaloid, and KAITO is the first male Japanese Vocaloid. MEIKO wasn't selling as much as they expected, and so they made another version called Sakine MEIKO. (Personally, out of all the Vocaloids, MEIKO is my favorite. And KAITO.) For any duet love songs, use KAITO and MEIKO. They're voices are beautiful together.

This should go down in history as the most realistic sounding VOCALOID cover EVER. and the fact that it was made with V1 software makes it so much better. I come back to listen to this every time I feel confident with my skills in VOCALOID to humble myself back into the ground, and I think all the kids uploading shitty covers that took 5 minutes of work should as well. THIS is how the software should be used. THIS is what it DESERVES.

Mary Tran o-o)/ I make sure KAITO's English is perfect on my covers. Too bad I've been too embarrassed to upload any of them. I use almost none of KAITO's default phonemes. Whoever programmed him didn't know what English is supposed to sound like. not the voice provider. the person who decided which sounds to put for which words. Unfortunately the only upload I have so far that showcases this is "If you could read my mid" which is lacking other tuning because I hadn't learned it yet :x. I have been too scared/lazy to upload since.

+Shigemi Notoge I'd love to hear your covers! If you can analyze songs such as these this critically, I'm sure your work is thoughtfully designed. Even if you aren't satisfied with what you can do, you'll always improve as you hone your skills.

To be fair, in the case of "tuning", not everyone can "hear" a ~1hz pitch variation. The difference between 440hz and 443hz, for instance, is potentially hidden for people without something close to "perfect pitch"; yet, is highly noticeable otherwise to others. The reason this one sounds "good" is more so, because of the "random" intonation between notes. Instead of a line such as "Tale as Old as Time" sounding linear and "robotic", this one varies it up and down along the pitch curve. There are a bunch of stuff that lets you do this with the Yamaha Editor; I sure wonder what the pitch render shows for this one, indeed such refinement does take ages. Also requires you know WTF u are doing. Now, V4X Vocaloids do auto-simulate some of these effects, but I presume manual refinement is likely best. I would like to see @shigemi notoge do a V4X song to see how the underlying software has improved; nevertheless the true test is originality. Anyone can make a cover, that's what AI does; the creativity of an original piece is unrivaled. Indeed, as I have yet to achieve this myself; that is why I am in Japan at the moment, of course...

Oh mah gawd, I can't even tell how happy I am to hear the both of them sing this good.They sound so realistic and their English sounds perfect if it's tuned right like this. It's a little sad if you think about it though, these two (Or Gumi, Gakupo, IA, Lily, Neru) don't get much appreciation as the other vocaloids like Miku, Len, Rin, and Luka. I hope in the future that the other vocaloids that aren't recognized as much as those main four won't be forgotten and will be used more. I'm looking forward to more awesome songs that features Kaito, Meiko, and the others.
