This is hands down the best cover of this song. The feel, the time and the groove and the mix were all spot on and I really like that you didn't overplay this like so many drummers out here on youtube that are just trying to outplay one another. This is very fresh and quite frankly a hell lot more pleasing to the ears. Awesome drumming, really inspiring.

Love it! The thing about this song is how people rave (and rightly so) about Larry Carlton’s epic guitar solo, but for me, the punctuation of the drums at the start of the solo really give it some oomph!

Purdie is a genius on such a simple thing in the chorus of accenting the mid tom and snare on the 2 and 4..That drives through or cuts through the chorus and paints a different feel...I've heared it in the song but noticed it while watching.....simple....and not over complicated.

going back over the SD catalogue...listening to this groove i could swear it had a jazz shuffle feel until i watched you play...those snare ghosts really make the 8th note pulse deceptive...those tom fills are something i would never play...so musical

Making a Steely Dan cover is always a challenge cause you know the fans are picky, thats what the duo did raise the bar, and this is a track with the legendary Bernard Purdie.
