Was out shooting my 35 lb. AF Tartar Bow & my thumb ring shooting was the best I ever had. I’m finally getting it after 2 years. Bought a thumb ring from Justin Ma in person @ an Archery show. What a difference when you have one that fits. Saw him draw a 110 lb bow w/ a thumbing to his hear. Wow. Thank you for your videos,

Pretty bow nice curves as you say as a bow ought to look. Alot of reviews I've seen on this bow say it has alot of handshock but I heard you say it didn't. I'm glad you reviewed it for us thank you Armin it's a bow I've been wondering about! I just ordered a hybrid hornbow from Indonesia I can't wait for it to get done they do crazy good thing over there with fiberglass I've been impressed this far!

Ho Yes ! I have this bow in takedown version, it is beautiful and awesome. Thanks for the review :) Alibow tells me the length of the takedown is the same as the regular version. I go to my club in bike and the takedown is very practical :)

It was master Armin’s older review of the Kaiyuan which inspired me to get Alibow s Kaiyuan in 2015. The bow is beautiful and performs very well . I got the 50# one with max draw of 33 inches .

I think the arrows you're supposed to pick up are already pointing down from the ground with the feathers up instead of lying parallel to the ground. That way, when you hook them on horseback, first, you can actually reach them, second they stay on the hook if you add a small twist as you hook them so it interlocks. I don't think it was meant to be picked up and balanced the way you're trying to.
@playinggames4u3644 жыл бұрын
I like the way you move the bow arm leaning forward just before you shoot, for me it has always been better to do that too, and noot keeping the bow still and stiff like some people do, I actually use a kind of Japanese draw (Raising the bow and bringing it down while stretching it by forwarding the bow hand and drawing back the arrow hand, like a smooth dance of death... xD), wich is pretty similar to what you do. You're a really good shooter! That's a nice bow! prefer longer ones, but that can really do a god job.

I saw the video you made of the Ali Bow “Ming Emperor 3”. You said you would follow up with testing and performance data. That cinnabar red was so pretty, I’m thinking of that bow or one or two others for purchase. Actually I watched all I could find and it’s tough to decide. That Yuwen Emperor is also tempting. Would you be so kind as to show both... analysis, testing, performance? Your reviews are second to none; I would really appreciate it. Thanks

A lovely well behaved bow. I chose this in cinnabar red as my first asiatic style bow and really got on well, until it started to delaminate. Most likely helped by my draw length. Ali bow swapped it for me without any problem, and I still think its one of the smoothest and best starter bows, would quite like another at 50#. Great review Armin on a lovely bow. What was the wood on the back?

I suspect picking up arrows with the hooks would be easier when the arrows in question have some sort of broadhead as they would in warfare. The broadhead would not slip through the hook as easily.

I just received the horsebow (shorter) version of this bow, 40lbs (the bow is marked 40# at 28" and 55# at 33"). I was surprised how smooth and easy it is to draw and it feels great to shoot too. Really beautiful as well (I ordered the "dark pearwood" custom wood with arrow rest inlay). It is superior to my 34lb Flagella Dei Scythian bow in every way and feels just as easy to draw despite the weight difference. Quite similar in design to my daughter's 25lb Oakridge Sada but the build quality is much nicer (and the handle is bigger).

I've got an angular bow the one from AF and it's got a 34" max draw but I can only draw 32 lol so I think I'm set on shouldn't draw it fully always. I try though :D

A cool laminated bow with string bridges, cool siyah's, optional take down version and you can even pick up arrows with it! Those ancient archers were beyond clever.

That sungur arrow when shoot Mediterranean always goes left, i don't know why.
@Daylon914 жыл бұрын
Are you shooting on the left side of the bow?
@elsaryakoci4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the arrow when shooting is on the left side. I hold the bow with my left hand. One coach i know said when bow is 50lb and arrow 30 inches, the arrow should be 400 spine.
@Daylon914 жыл бұрын
@@elsaryakoci the arrow will always go left when on the left side drawing with your right hand which is why you have to compensate for that. Look at the arrow knocked on the string. It isnt pointing straight at the target but at an angle unless you have a centre fire bow. I'd go with 10 GPP so 50 IBS do 500 grain/spine

I'm itching to buy bows, but is it safe to buy bows from countries affected by the pandemic?
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
of course it is. no problem at all, a flu (that is what corona is) can not be transmitted by a bow :)
@gizmonomono4 жыл бұрын
Side khatra doesn't work for you? Now I'm confused. Your bow always goes a bit to the side, doesn't it? I mean, without that motion arrows would bounce off the bow, right? I guess now my question is, what exactly IS side khatra then? 😁 Torquing the bow?
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
I usually do side and down in combination, that works for me. Just to the side not :)
@gizmonomono4 жыл бұрын
@@ArminHirmer I see. So a combination. I get that. I still feel clueless about the pure side khatra now, though. I thought I understood it, but now I'm not so sure 😁
@Daylon914 жыл бұрын
Side Khatra clears the arrow of the bow and adds a kick. Armin shoots a lot of bows I'm thinking perhaps one type of khatra works better with that type/size of bow.. Like for instance with the longbow or Yumi you would have a hard time doing side down khatra due too its size
@gizmonomono4 жыл бұрын
@@Daylon91 Sure, you need something to provide clearance for the arrow. And a Manchu bow is pretty bad for forward khatra. But forward khatra is simple, I understand it. Side khatra on the other hand, I thought I understood it. But now I'm not sure. When I shoot I simply use back tention for that kick to the side, and it works great for me. There is also the torque technique as well. Which I don't like at all. But where does the side khatra fit into it is what I'm asking. I'm missing something.
