Dravidians Model Government have utterly failed to eradicate untouchability during their 100 years of governance. Even in schools, caste atrocities raise its ugly head. If caste Untouchability is eradicated, enrollment in schools will go up.

Atleast it's trying, unlike others. Not easy to change 1000s of yrs of teaching from people's mentality. But we've come a long way and we DO need to go a long way, especially in rural villages, even mine

@@1serpentina No positive measures were taken to eradicate untouchability. Not even single village is liberated from caste Untouchability during their 100 years of governance. Is any scheme to annihilate all types of untouchability apartfrom law, which is not used purposefully to get electoral gains.

Most of villages in the state have transformed a lot in the last 50 years when compared to other states which I experienced in person. Progress is a slow process whereas destruction is fast! 6:33 ​@@ganesank8803

@1serpentina: it’s waste to educate people like this guy who fails to understand that there is a huge group of people working constantly and continuously against the good work. These people will not raise their voice among their family members or villagers or their caste group or the upper caste and the upper most caste groups who do not want the affected or enslaved to get relived or liberated. It’s a collective mechanism to change the mindset of the people and improve them to feel and make them equal but the society is not! Change, first has to happen at home!

​@@ganesank8803True, but there's a subtle society change, not everywhere I agree, ur place might be different, I don't know. My village women studies, working, overall education improved and now I could see voice of working women is heard atleast. Their acceptance to marriage is asked, my chithi was not given much option. One change I see is marriage. Though they see caste in marriage, now studies and job is more important than caste, don't care even if sc/st. Personally I have seen intercaste marriage couple is removed from village registry during my dad's time(by educated people only), 10 yrs back love marriage of my sister is criticized (though same caste) but during my time, I saw more love marriages from other caste, religion, even state and very rare arrange marriages. When it is normalized intercaste marriage, that rigid caste mentality reduced, not completely eliminated, but reduced atleast. Even parents who reject due to caste due to society long back rejoined in my neighbors. Still sc/st still face discrimination some places and I agree, when they also uplifted, I feel this will slowly change. Though i agree ur point, 100 yrs and we still talking abt caste and untouchables. I was in other states and there even next generation is so caste mentality. I feel in TN, though some fringe youths r in wrong path, most educated responsible youth are atleast not so toxic. Our only hope is educating next generation on gender and caste equality, becoz we can't changebold people. As people migrate between villages(rent or buy), the caste lines in villages may slowly change. Many youth who hated politics now talking about it is already a big change, becoz I was brought up saying don't talk politics it's dirty. Now even though we r neutral, we know what's wrong and right. It needs to reach even the most rural areas, yes. I feel like it's linked with employment, development and women education mostly. As long as these improve, a small change is sure to happen, though not big. Let's hope that day comes and we work towards it and educate or change as much people as possible, starting from our own family talking against them when they speak ill of women or other caste or justify a crime or use caste words
