I've been following your channel since really early on. Although I have been keeping up on your Mass Effect I don't think I've commented lately and I haven't been keeping up with Exodus. I really do love how you present things so any criticism is not aimed at you. I am really looking forward to character histories and I think this structure was great. Stick to the most important elements for context and bring in the elements like comics that people who only play the games may have missed. This Garrus backstory might be weighty but doesn't feel like it matches up with the Garrus we know. Even as a child, I can't imagine him giving up because he couldn't hit the target or found the rifle too heavy. Reassessing his career goals to take care of his family does feel in character. I can imagine him finding things too hard because he was driven to try things at too early an age, perhaps having setbacks because he was younger than the boys around him. Again this would be important context.

I loved this, thank you! Despite playing through them twice, I have somehow missed the artist comment after Grissom. I hope no matter what ending he gets, that Garrus takes up art. He deserves it after all of that!

Would have been cool if they'd allowed Shep to lean into a "dark arc" and support them through all 3 games. Loved this deep dive 💙. Vakarian really is one of the pillars of the series. I loved the back story, as i never read the comics. One thing I still wonder about: in 3 Shepard can ask Garrus how far he is up the chain, given the rate they're burning through Primarks. He only mentions it's far closer than he likes. Made me curious.

My play through this passed weekend, Garrus said he went back for Specter Training and either dropped out or quit. Then found his way to Omega. I do not remember the Source. A plot that didn't make it into ME3 was that Garrus's Family didn't make it off Palavin if Sedonis is killed. Sedonis redeems himself by finding them and getting them on an Evac shuttle.

As someone who plays a paragade, renegade friendship with Garrus is WAY better than paragon they literally agree on everything and are way more comfortable with each other imo since Garrus is literally renegade coded Also shooting the bottle is actually still wholesome 😂 as Garrus will make Shepard laugh out loud which I’m pretty sure is the only time in the entire trilogy that it happens, lots of giggles from Shepard but never this level of burst out laughing, I love that it showcases that regardless of your alignement Shepard and Garrus are always best friends bc as a paragon it’s Shepard that makes Garrus laugh out loud for the first time

I remember when I was a really young teen boy playing the first Mass effect old school one through all three on the same character I did ev I could possibly do or find to make sure I'll always his friend and making sure he survived each game (and Tali because she's too adorable to let die ) never did a romance option with him I believe my first one in 1 was liara then Tali in 2 and somehow in three as well the 3rd mass effect I struggled the most trying to become strong enough for everyone I could save to survive I struggled and many tries but I finally got it I love the three games hate how the last ended and was confused about the Andromeda one I mean it's a good game idea if not for the confusing story and some gameplay issues I didn't mind the story as much bc it's not shepherd it's a whole new character trying to match the legend of the game series it's not bad just not as good in my taste and of course the gameplay issues with combat glitches quest not working or continuing and my last playthrough of Andromeda it got severely laggy on the new krogen planet and couldn't really continue it after that bc the lag would glitch everything else it's a good game a good idea just not planned or prepared as it should had been and possible lack of funs and different team

I'm new to ME, and I immediately love Garrus. I don't think I can romance other character besides him, after knowing his background story from your video, I love him even more. I pick many renegade choice for Garrus story bc my Shepard a bit more renegade than paragon. I let him kill that doctor and Sidonis, and encourage him to join the Spectre.

18:20 I could not disagree more with this sentiment, real friends are honest with each other and I think that it would hurt Garrus 100x more if he found out Shepard missed on purpose rather than Shepard simply being a better shot.
