Thank You for Comments! I wold like give you some recommendations for breathing while performing Kalari exercises. Breath is used in yoga and martial arts to increase and focus physical strength and energy. One must always consider the mechanics and the effects of the breath, if one wants to be in the flow with the energy. This is how the subtle energy can develop and contract. Generell, all movements related to expansion are assisted by inhalation. But there are different patterns of visualization and mental guidance of energy. Example of expansion: extend arms upwards, back bend, bring leg forward (horse). Example of an expansion: extend the arms upwards, bring the back bend, the leg or the leg forward (horse). Each type of abdominal contrakton is performed while exhaling: forward bending, defensive reversing. But there is an apparent contradiction between movement and breath in martial arts practice. We observe there at arm or leg expansions (punches and kicks) that it is synchronized with exhalation. But if we look for the origin of the energy chain, we find it in the contraction of the abdominal muscles. So punches and kicks become fighting techniques when the focused energy comes out of the abdomen and is expelled outward through the arms or legs with potent force. Wait for my new Videos! I will comment on the subtitle in my next video

Great video and stretching techniques this will greatly improve flexibility and strength. However lets not forget all of this exercise is primarily to prepare the body for combat and healing from combat. Would be great to see some martial applications and techniques of Kalari. Well done in keeping this ancient art alive.

Can you tell the breath pattern that we have to follow while doing this exercise?
@venkom6 жыл бұрын
Inhale when you go away from your body ( thoracic cage has max volume then), exhale when you go towards your body. ( thoracic cage volume is minimum). Its a general guideline for all flow based yoga forms, though there are exceptions to this like any rule.

@Yoga-Lehrerin5 жыл бұрын
You can start practicing Kalari Yoga at home. There are exercises like the "6 Hand Mudras", "6 Feet Mudras" and Surya Namaskar, "Urvani Surya Namaskar" or "Urvani Kalari Warm Up" exercises. The training can look like this: 1. "Will gymnastics" 20 min 2. Surya Namaskar / Urvani Surya Namaskar 10 min 3. "6 hand mudras" (exercise 1-3, 5 repetitions each) 10 min 4. Leg swing exercises 5 min 5. Elephant position in four directions. 10 min. 6. Meditation 10 min.

What he means is, the name is gaja, not ganja. Ganja means mariuajana. Gaja means elephant.
