Wow, you went pretty deep for a challenge video. Thank you for your honesty and for allowing yourselves to be both vulnerable and unapologetic - as you should be imo. I'm not sure all the tears were because of the hot sauce. On a lighter side, It was also fun to watch your burning faces. Edit: comment edited because I'm a grammar nazi! :p

You guys are so sweet! I'm so sorry you have to deal with homophobia in Utah but it's super brave for you to be yourselves and living your lives honestly in a place where most people aren't going to see that. You're setting an example for people who may otherwise fear coming out in your area, which is amazing. Anyway thanks for the upload! I like the Q&A style!
@KnightofGascogne6 жыл бұрын
Homophobia is everywhere. I've seen videos of other lgbt youtubers who were verbally harrassed, even threatened, in the middle of LA, a supposedly liberal haven (fyi It isn't). Mormons are more conservatives and (imo) uptight, but at least most have the decency not to scream slurs and threats right on their faces. It might seem more hypocritical, but lgbt people don't seem to be at risk in Utah and the midwest in general. It's not the case in big cities when you get out of your LA West Hollywood, SF Castro or NY Village bubble, if you see what I mean. ofc the deep south is openly hostile, or maybe I'm prejudiced?
@oliviacraft246 жыл бұрын
@@KnightofGascogne Totally, just based on what they said, getting stares and such may be uncomfortable and in more conservative areas it's less normalized, so for them to be holding hands in public for example is something that other lgbt people around them might see and think that they can do too. Which is great!
@KnightofGascogne6 жыл бұрын
@@oliviacraft24 I totally agree on that part. They're indeed an example and that's great.

ok Kale @ 6:42 made me do the ugliest cackle I think I've ever done in my life. anyway BRILLIANT VIDEO, GUYS!! I find it so damn romantical that Kale revealed she has a bad memory but she remembers the exact dessert she was eating when on a lunch date with Jess in their teens. also s/o to "..... that tastes like poison." Loving all the vlogmas content this year, keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you so much for this 😊 It's a little difficult for me to express myself because English isn't my first language but I just want you to know that I really appreciate you doing these kind of videos/story times/Q&A's. You said earlier that you are still trying to come to terms with putting yourselves out there and sharing your story, so just know that you're helping a lot of people (including me) dealing with similar problems. I also love that you decided to "spice it up" a little by doing a different kind of Q&A! You're awesome and this channel is one of my favourites on here 😃

Thanks for sharing. I find that you are both very brave for sharing your lives with us out here in internet land. It takes a good bit of courage to talk about times in your life and relationship that were difficult. Not everyone can do it. I wish nothing but good times for you both. I know from experience that it's all worth it. I had a wonderful 28 year relationship with my partner, whom I lost four years ago. I miss her terribly. Just keep loving one another and enjoy the time that you have together.

I just watched this video after not having access to KZbin for 5 months. I have never watched the other show. I would just like to say that you two have really gotten more comfortable with the medium. I’m sure it was a gradual progression, but having been away for awhile I can see how you have grown and made your channel more meaningful, funny and relaxed. Keep it up! Happy to be back!❤️😎

You ladies are wonderful, intelligent, beautiful and kind. I am the mother of 3 incredible children and I think any mom would be proud to have daughters like you. I also live in Utah, Utah County, and it’s been incredibly difficult for the friends I have who have come out. I was born and raised in CA and moved here about a decade ago having no previous experience or knowledge of the LDS church. The churches prominence here is in the 90 percent range and I was shockingly surprised when learning of the impact the church can have on the gay community. It can be VERY hard on someone to come out who has been a member. I’m happy that you ladies have found peace and confidence in your sexuality and relationship ❤️ and I hope all great and wonderful things for you both. Keep doing what you do, it works beautifully.

I read the church essays on lds.org (you have to search well for them as they buried them deep in their website) and my foundation of my belief for the LDS church started cracking and falling away. Then I read the letter that Jeremy Runnels wrote to the CES director regarding questions he had on the topics of the churchs essays, and studied them out for myself, and those cracks are now shattered pieces. I too was raised like you. Strong LDS family even to this day, I even served a mission. I completely believed in the LDS church. It was my heritage. It is in my DNA (Believe it or not) I have not had my name removed from the records because like you, what does it matter. If they excommunicate me, then so be it. I won't lose sleep over it. I once believed but now I see.

With your names still being in the record of the church, do you still have to give 10% of your income to them? At least that's something I've read about members. Or is that something thats more of a choice?
@KaleandJess6 жыл бұрын
So they call that tithing, and it is a choice but it’s also asked if you’re a “full tithe payer” in interviews for church callings and temple recommends. They ask that you give 10% of your income to receive blessings or something 😂 never was a huge fan!

I hope you weren't judging religious, conservatives, Republicans, Kale. I'm a conservative, republican Christian and so are most all of the people I hang with and we don't stare, judge or hate or say mean things to people for being gay. If I was weirded out by people for being gay do you think I would still be here watching your vlogs after all these years? Just like you, I also don't deserve to be judged or stereotyped because of my way of life.
@rubygarcia29365 жыл бұрын
Mme Popova so based on her personal experience it is likely that people in her area with these demographics have shown a certain reaction to her and Jess. Why? Because of the rhetoric that gets put out by leaders in those demographics. She admits that people don’t always react in a negative way but that she manages her expectations. If you are a religious republican living in Utah you are likely being represented by leaders who actively voice their disapproval of same sex marriage/love. If that’s not who you are then unfortunately most of the time you’ll need to clarify.
