DeBoer's strength is his on-field coaching. The guy is a top 3 coach in the country. Analysts knew that before he came to Alabama. People were saying even with lesser rosters he'd beat top teams. The big question was could he get the recruiting right and feed the 4 and 5 stars into the program. THAT was the ONLY question. If Alabama stays in the top 3-5 in recruiting every year then Alabama is going to be a nightmare for everyone.

The only question was the recruiting and that’s has been answered. Let’s not forget he beat Texas the team that beat us with way less talent than our 12 five star roster. He also beat Oregon twice in the same year and put 10 guys who were 3-4 star guys in the NFL just as many as we did. I think our coaching staff has been under performing for a while now since Saban’s retirement was hanging as the unknown over the program. You give this guy the most 5 star players in the country which we have this year on the roster, and give him the upgraded coaching staff along with his brilliant offensive mind and we are going to dominate some people and go a long way. The beginning might be a bit of a test like it was last year with Milroe the first few games, but the playoff has been expanded to more teams and we will make it in. By that time, things will be clicking and Bama will be the team that no one wants to play.

Downs is an amazing player, but he had several key mishaps throughout the season. Several against Texas was his fault. The Michigan 4th down comes to mind as well. Corum was his responsibility & he never picked him up after the back switched sides.

Isaiah Bond isn't overhyped off one catch he was a significant piece of the passing game last year and was Alabama's true #1 WR last year because Burton is overrated. Bond is not Devonta Smith no but he is a dog.

@@Cowboymcgangbang Bond had 660 yards and 4 TDs. I said he was a great WR. 660 and 4 TDs though…. is not elite or irreplaceable by any means. For example, Bernard had 400 and 2 TDs as a depth piece behind 3 NFL WRs. Downs is absolutely a top safety in the country, but getting back two top 5 portal safeties & the rest of what Alabama got back is a pretty even trade in my opinion. In fact, I think it’s a trade I would’ve taken if told in the middle of the season last year.

That was the point of everyone when he was hired. He’s shown immense success and ability at each stop on his coaching career. He turned Washington from a 4 win team into playing in the National Championship game in 2 seasons with a bunch of 3 star talent. After being hired at Alabama they said that he’s a great coach but he can’t recruit the South or the SEC. Well he’s certainly proving that wrong. It seems sensible to think that someone with his track record for success would do even better than ever before when he’s got more talent on his roster than ever before, wouldn’t you agree ? RTR
