In Hindu mythology time is cyclical. 4 yugas/ eras Keeps repeating. Satya, Treta, Dwapara, Kali Yugas. Kali Yuga is the current running one but will end in the future and is the worst of all 4 interms of amount of miseries and evil. Now Kalki is the Avatar of Lord Vishnu. 10th Avatar. He came to earth previously as Buddha & before tht during Dwapara yuga as Lord Krishna. So this story is about that kid in the womb who'll come back as lord Kalki who'll kill that evil guy who's the supreme Yaskin/ Demon Kali and restart the cycle of time back to Satya Era. Satya in Sanskrit means era of Truth and righteous

@@bhuvaneshs.k638 Nobody understand what any of that means. You can't expect the West to know all of this mythology from another culture, let alone all the admired actors from a different movie industry. It needs to be simplified and spoonfed a lot more, as the Greek and Norse gods have been, which is why Western audiences are now familiar with those pantheons, and nerds walk around dressed as Loki at Comicons. In our own productions, we have two superpowered Indian women - Arogya the Healer and Kaliyuga the Destroyer. They are almost opposites, represent simple motivations of good and evil, and wear Western-style spandex superhero costumes, which makes them comprehensible and admirable (as Chris understands Roxie) without having to grow up going to a Hindu temple with your family.

Ramayana & Mahabharata are the sources for Manga & Anime concepts like Chakra system, Asura, Deva, Yogic energy system, element system, etc. Japanese read them for ideas & inspiration for new series. If we make a sequel to Bible, we get something like Passion of the Christ. If we make a sequel to Mahabharata, we get Kalki. And you know what, we are cool with it.

Force is an idea that inspired from Namaste concept in Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharata & Gita It is the idea of Narayana being in everything, the rock, the tree, the humans, life. It binds the brahmand / Universe together. Sounds familiar? Lucas was inspired by Eastern philosophies like Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Kalki is the Anikan Skywalker of Kaliyuga, with a sword made of life, who is born to bring balance & uphold Dharma/Righteousness, when Adharma / evil is at its peak. But, Disney now changed than to power of one, power of two, power of MANY.

bhairava's character was goofy by careful design..they repeatedly stress that he is 'selfish' and doesn't take things seriously and we are also misled a couple of times nudging us that he could be "kaala bhairava" (the diety sitting on the dog statue ; the lightning striking the wheel revealing kaala bhairava behind it)... and then then then ...when the final reveal happens that he is infact "daana veera soora karna" .. a hero who willingly sacrificies everything, even his own life and is the epitome of selflessness and expectional courage and valour..and that..we wer infact misled all this time!!!!!!! the movie peaked right there..i wish u got the context n the lore behind his character..it was a perfect set-up with a huge payoff in the end even karna's reveal had seeds planted before like the dialogue 'i have never lost a single battle.. check ur records'(such wud be the confidence/arrogance of karna) ... he is not karna just out of the blue just for the sake of the twist!! nag ashwin has carefully thought it through and prabhas played it to perfection..kudos to both of em

@@jesonkuttan Ok but why? In actual mahabaratha krishna never says anything like that about Karna, Nag is misrepresentating Mahabaratha and that is problematic. I hated seeing prabhas face bcuz he is boring cringy dumb and so then when he appeared as karna I did not get goosebumps. Instead of focusing on prabhas if the director focused on the story and to create emotional connect with audience like rajamouli does, it would've been much better. Even in second half, in sambala when they show song, I'm like is really necessary at this moment ? It's so boring. Then deepika says I'm going to back complex, then I lost it. I just wanted to walk out of the threatre. The screenplay was the weakest. If you have money to make Indian cinema, will u use that money to represent Indian culture or things we've already seen in many hollwyood movies. The visuals were not beautiful like bahubali, it was just dessert and constructions. When u saw trailer of something it's supposed to make u feel excited right? I least bothered about the movie when I saw trailer. Still went to watch it hearing positive reviews from people.

But we are so proud with the limited budget we pulled this off very cleverly and well executed. so many characters in marvel are inspired from indian ethihaas and puranaas. @adityan3208

@@phoenixj1299 Thor is literally a Norse God. You're crazy to think that concept came from Hinduism. Heaven isn't exclusively our concept. Multiverse Yes, although multiverse also exists in Greek mythology, so it's debatable that might be their source of inspiration. Not only that, do you know that Multiverse theory really came out of science in the last century because of the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment? Aquaman is copy of Namor, based on a Mayan God. And there's nothing wrong with Marvel representing us with Vishnu and Brahma. It's good that they used the original names without faking originality. I would advise you to stop assuming everything is copied from India and get educated. I'm not saying they don't copy, but we shouldn't be blinded by the pride for iur culture and have such an enormous bias, especially when you can literally search on the internet about the real sources of inspiration
@phoenixj1299
@phoenixj1299 28 күн бұрын
@@adityan3208 Let me first of all say that I am not someone who says that inspiration is wrong. Thor himself is based on Indra. Thor is God of thunder, Indra is God of thunder. Thor has a hammer called Mjolnir and Indra has a mace/hammer called Vajra. Thor killed a serpent called jormugandr and saved the waters encircling the world. Indra killed vritr and saved waters encircling the earth. Heaven is not the same as Asgard or Svarg actually. Multiverse doesn't exist in Greek mythology. Both multiple universes and multiverse concepts existed in Hindu mythology. By the way multiple universes and the multiverse are not the same thing actually. Aquaman is actually inspired by Poseidon and Shiva.Again I am not someone who says inspiration is wrong at all. First you must understand the phenomenon of not giving credit to things from the mythology of a tradition that is actually practiced since it can get cancelled or have a negative remark. So many of the creators would say "i took inspiration from Greek, Norse mythology" because these religions are dead so taking inspiration from them is never a problem. Let me tell u an incident of what happens when Marvel openly shows that they took inspiration from Hindu mythology and made a tribe in Black Panther consider Hanuman as their deity. And there is a simple dialogue like "Glory to Hanuman". Even that got cancelled and censored in India. So imagine opening up about huge inspiration from Hindu mythology. That would be bad for business especially since India has the highest population. They don't have to risk the largest market.

I think this movie works more for the Indian audience as there are lot of references and subtext to the Mahabharata (one of the epics of hindu religion). The reveal at the end is a shock/surprise for the audience who know the story of Mahabharata. Stylistically nag ashwin has adopted a lot of things from hollywood. Kind of like a mad max sort of universe with hints of star wars, children of men etc.

I can understand their perspective. They have no knowledge of the Mahabharat. They couldn't connect with any of the characters. They are also criticizing the VFX and other goofy action sequences (rightfully so), but one has to remember that this movie's budget was less than 70 million. Give these directors 200-300 million and see what they could come up with. I don't blame the reviewers. I actually welcome their review.

Kalki 2898 AD is the pride of Indian Cinema and Telugu Cinema. One word review: MINDBLOWING. Do not miss it at any cost. 💯💯💯 I hope Kalki surpasses every Indian movie produced so far including RRR and becomes the most successful Indian film. Absolutely mindblowing except some unnecessary cringe masala and cringe comedy with Bhairava in the first half. Kamal Haasan part is pure horror. The way they have imagined landscapes, environments, weapons, vehicles, powers, Mahabharata scenes is truly exceptional and spectacular. My one suggestion to Nag Ashwin is to explore the Complex society and the outside world more in depth because on the surface it looks like everyone is doing well enough even though they are starving for food, water, clean oxygen and they have just stuck some neon signs randomly on Indian alleyways and streets because that's how cyberpunk movies do it. Anyone who says it is merely a copy of Star Wars, Dune, Mad Max, MCU deserve to drink Kali's tears lol. Excited for Kalki 2 more than I ever was for Brahmastra 2. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are good but Amitabh Bachchan is the MVP. Wow. Disha Patani's part is simply waste. Roxxie could have still been used to show Bhairava the luxuries and abundance of the Complex without that cringe song. Also, unnecessary writing mistakes like superhuman Ashwatthama suddenly not being able to lift Sumathi up should not happen. I wish they would give Shree Krishna better look. No yellow angavastram or armor or jewels or mukut. Just a white cloth and a head band makes him look like a Greek hero. Personally I would have loved to see Shree Krishna blue instead of fair-skinned or dark-skinned because that's how we all grew up watching him in all images. I wish they worked on young Ashwatthama's face better because it is honestly bad, looking like a video game character whenever he spoke with large Disney cartoon eyes. Red Chillies is right there! Deserves to be watched atleast twice. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 PS. For non-Indians and Karna (son of Sun God Surya) fans watching this, Karna was not more powerful than Arjuna. Karna is an antagonist and an adharmi in the Mahabharata who was jealous of Arjuna and committed many evil deeds and suffered for his karma and choosing the wrong side against the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shree Krishna. Period. But he is not a cheeranjeevi (immortal) like Ashwatthama. How has he reborn or reincarnated remains to be seen. Note that according to some, Karna pushing Arjuna's chariot back is a fake story and Ashwatthama surrendered the mani himself.

@@phoenixj1299 RRR is tightly edited. No scene wasted. Tone is so consistent. Action is better shot. Better fight choreography. This movie is good, but RRR is something else. Kalki movie is good because of our ancient stories, and tbf there are good concepts shown here, but it wasted too much runtime at the start. Prabhas's character's scenes weren't great, badly written long stretch of conversations in the first half. Last half is great. But RRR is great from start to finish. No competition. And the biggest problem with Kalki is that we don't get attached to any characters like we do in RRR.
