The past scenes actually are from the Indian epic "Mahabharata" where Amitabh Bachchan's character is the immortal ashwatthama. He redirected a weapon during a battle towards a pregnant woman called uthhara. The weapon almost hit her but lord Krishna stopped it. Angered by his actions, lord Krishna cursed ashwatthama to live till the end of the World. As the end is approaching, ashwatthama takes responsibility to protect another pregnant woman to undo his mistake from the past and also provide the world with the saviour "Kalki"

the lady standing in the balcony of palace and a bow coming at her womb, that scene is of Mahabharat, actually, name of Amitabh Bacchan's character is Ashwatdhama... and he is belived to have been cursed to live eternally and bleed from parts of his body (hence here also covered with clothes) because after the war of Mahabharat he killed the Grand child of Arjuna within the womb of Arjuna's daughter-in-law... However the life of child was lateron revived by Krishna, but still he gave him the curse... by the way, Ashwatdhama was not a bad person, he is scholar and a learned individual, just due the news of his father's death, he was angry at Arjun hence he did that... And the writers of this movie are taking reference from that part and trying to show that once who destroyed the womb, is now saving it...

Notice scenes from the past where you see the light strike that lady's womb? That lady is Uttarā, and that weapon is ' Brahmastra' (Yes, the one referred in Bramhastra movie). Back in Mahabharata, Ashwatthama consumed by the desire for vengeance, decided that if he could not end the Pandavas, he would end their lineage, aiming the weapon at Uttarā's womb, killing the unborn Parikshit and that is the reason Shri Krishna intervened and revived the stillborn baby, and Ashwatthama was made to give up his source of power - the gemstone in the middle of his forehead. Due to his immortality, he was cursed to live forever till the end of time with the gaping wound on his forehead. All other Iconic scenes are from the War of Mahabharata. Also, That's where we may see a lot of Cameo's as per rumors. ;)

In Indian mythology, we have only hand full of immortals. Here Aashwathama , is one of such immortal, his immortality is granted as a curse by lord Krishna. Basically the Mahabharata story goes as, Aashwathama was supporting his friends faction. The war ended when his friend lost his life in showdown battle. To avenge his friend's death he launched bhramastra ( supposedly some kind of thermo nuclear weapon) straight into the Princess womb (the winning team). Lord Krishna got mad and he removed aashwathama's third eye (his father got him his third eye as a wish from lord shiva) which gave him a Scar that will never heal and gave him immortality so he can suffer eternally. If anyone is wondering what happened to the baby, the baby was safe after some treatments

Towards the end of each yuga when when virtues are at their worst nd amount of sin has reached its limit, Lord Vishnu takes birth as an avatar, and it all ends in a cataclysmic war, ushering in a new Yuga. We r said to be in the 4th Yuga, Kali Yuga. and it's prophesied that Vishnu's avatar Kalki will take birth and lead the war, good over bad. The ancient looking battleground is the Mahabharata war from the end of the 3rd Yuga. And the old man in first shot, Ashwatthama, is alive since that battle. He had been cursed by Krishna for his attempt to kill an unborn child 2:40 . It looks like Deepika's character is carrying the prophesied Kalki, as a result of experiments or smthng. Watched the movie today. This is the second movie I watched in theatres and I wasn't even mindful about it as I just went to accompany my friend BUT BUT guys this is a movie which should be made in Indian cinema more these days. The authenticity of the story is just marvelous which made me fall in love with it. I don't care much about VFX but just the story. But I think it was a combined experience of watching it in 3D and go watch it. You not gonna regret. I was so surprised to see Mrunal Thakur's cameo. Actors did justice to their characters.

5:18 the lady in white saare was the Uttara, she is the daughter in law of the great warrior price Shree Arjuna, Uttara's womb was hit by the divine weapon Bhrahmastra released by the Ashwathama (younger version of Mr. AB and Some scenes are from the epic Mahabharata battle shown here ❤) to destroy the fetus in the womb, after this great sin, Lord Shree Krishna cursed Ashwathama with immortality and took out the stone from his forehead with the never healing wound.

seems like og gang is focused more now on Cinepals content. They haven't seen that much on Kalki content except for trailers. Earlier they used to react on making, songs everything etc for movies like bahubali and Rrr. I have been a subscriber from 2017 I think for non-indian audiences this movie looks like a sci-fi movie from India taking reference from American movies and hence the dip in interest. As an Indian movie fan, this is exciting and new. a mix of childhood Mahabharata stories with future and prophecies. I hope they nail the story and screenplay and attract even big producers and budgets for the next installments

It's a sequel to Mahabharata, you wouldn't understand certain things and the entirety of the storyline being spanning over 6000 years that will be depicted in the film. Prabhas is like Han Solo in this.

In the end it's bujji that's transformed into a robotic dog kind of form and it's a reference to kaal Bhairav ( hindu diety ) as he has a dog as his vaahan and here prabhas's character name is Bhairava, which is basically showing prabhas as kaal Bhairav

For Jaby and Echara The character Amitabh plays is "ashvadhama" son of drona acharya (guru of Pandavas and Kauravas) Mahabharat. Pandavas kill their guru in final war against Kauravas which leads ashvadhama uses the most powerful brahmastra to Arjun's son abhimanyu wife's womb but lord Krishna( lord Vishnu's 9th avathar in dvapar yug) saves the child in womb and curshes ashwadhama to be mortal with wounds and smells till the end of universe and pluck the stone from his head. as per Hindu mythology kalki is the avathar (10th avathar of vishnu in kali yug) and here the movie all these references are coming one the guy who tried to kill a life in mother's womb is now in forefront to protect the Pregnent women (depika)

Okay, there is no chosen one 4:38. In Mahabharata, Ashwathama (amitabh bachchan) used Brahmastra(one of the deadliest weapons) on Uttara's womb(5:18) on losing the war. Her womb had the only living descendant of Pandavas(Parikshit). Lord Kirshna(Madhava) reignited life in her womb against the laws of nature and cursed Ashwathama to be immortal, but his body would ooze pus and blood and he'd be in pain throughout. Deepika's womb has "Kalki", the last avatar of Vishnu which is why Ashwathama is protecting her and is seeking redemption. Kalki is prophecised to decimate all people that cause suffering and re-establish dharma.
