Hi friends 🌲 I tried something new this time with a very slow and simple intro, what did you think about it? 😊If you want to see even more of my content I have three new bonus videos over at Nebula, which you can get access to for 26% off here: curiositystream.com/?coupon=kalleflodin Completely optional, but it really helps this channel out a ton. Thanks you ❤

I had no idea that "The Cottage Fairy's" brother was so involved in film work. I know she had mentioned him from time to time, and that he had helped her to take her own videos to the next level, but I must have somehow missed any further information on him. Sounds like a very interesting interview and I would love to hear more! Your own video here is so beautiful by the way. You get those amazing shots and really know how to work a camera. And no, you are not selfish. You are smart. As an INFJ, and an HSP, I can definitely understand the need for alone time to be better able to give something positive of yourself to others. What you are doing is very psychologically healthy and wise. Thank you for sharing! 💚

For me the bucket is a "battery" :) I am literally going through exactly the same process of building more space for my boyfriend so we can both have our "me" times. I think everyone needs it a little at least but introverts definitely need it more I think.

For my partner and me it was the best decition to seperate rooms as well. We decided to rent an apartment with one more room so each of us has their own 'room' and srsly. It helped so much to get more together and enjoy time together. So i can truely understand why you do this and that is has nothing to do with 'loving' someone less than before. It is the opposite. It is helping both to breath.

Hey! I'm pretty sure I've heard something very similar as your bucket theory - just with glasses instead. If my own glass gets empty, and isn't filled up, there is nothing we can keep giving to others. The best case scenario is that the glass (or bucket) is overflowing, because that way we give to others from our own motivation - we enjoy it. If we decide to give for example from half filled glass, it doesn't feel very good - we are giving what we need to keep for ourselves. It's something like sharing one slice of bread when you haven't eaten for two days. It is usually giving not because we want to, but because it is expected of us, or because it's our duty. If that makes sense... (I think I heard it in a psychology seminar and also in protestant church)

I totally get the concept of the me bucket. I’m a stay so I’m always surrounded by my family. My husband works full time and we rarely just get time to ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice when we have time together, but sometimes that me time is what we all need to unwind. We’re in the slow going process of building a house and I love when I can just have half an hour to myself to just sit out and enjoy nature. I think it soothes the soul and helps us find more calm in the craziness of our days. Another lovely video. Your guitar playing is so soothing.

I love the ambience created by your guitar as you went about your day at your cabin. I got a chuckle over the Swinger's pond of frogs that appeared after the frog's mating call. Hilarious! Also it's not selfish that you need your own space (bucket time) in order to recharge your batteries. As an introvert I need this too. Enjoy your man cave! Jenny

Hi Kalle, you made a very pleasant video. Thank you. Calm and nevertheless you do transfer a lot of energy. I’d love to see and hear more of you playing the guitar. The “Me bucket” topic is so true and important. Sometimes hard to stick to. Everyone needs, more or less, to act autonomously for being ready to interact again with others. That’s not selfish, it’s necessary to stay mentally strong. I wish you all the best for your studio cabin project. 🌲🌲

Loved the intro, very gentle and enjoyable... :) I think it's important to have a "me-bucket". Mine is very basic at the moment, mostly focusing on the simple thing that my most essential physical needs are met, as I need to seriously take care of two people close to me right now and I am only used to be a care giver for one person... I can also really relate to the challenges a small shared living space creates. We are living in a flat of about the same size as your cabin and that for the last 5 years with my partner being disabled...and us both beings artists with a lot of stuff we need to create...we can't afford any extra space, but if we could we would totally go for a solution just like the one you chose! :) I hope your 2nd cabin gets finished soon, so that you can both benefit from having this essential separate extra room - I am sure it will be a game-changer. All the best :)

Having a Me-Bucket isn't selfish at all, Kalle. It's funny in a sad way that you explained so easily what was/is going on in my life recently... having that picture of the buckets in mind i can now clearly see how empty my own bucket is (it's slowly filling up now) and how that effects my relationship. Thank your for that friendly reminder that it's okay to take time and space for myself ♥

I love that song you wrote! It seems like it made the video whole if that makes sense, because it's all you. And I think the man cave project is really cool, for some reason A-frames seem extra cozy! It's definitely not selfish to make sure your "me bucket" is filled. My boyfriend and I are often stuck in the same room since we live in a city apartment, and while we love spending time together we wish we had our own spaces to go to (we're working on it 😅) Can't wait to listen to the new podcast with Rohan!

Life is so busy, I need my own little space where I can be me with my own thoughts. Then I have the energy back to be a great wife (if a may say so hihi) and person for my husband and our animals. When I was recovering from burn-out (is that what’s it’s called in English? Utmattning på svenska) my psychologist taught me about “my sun”, which is the same principle as your bucket! Whenever I’m kind to myself, do stuff I enjoy, or allow myself to rest, I’m colouring my sun, filling it with colour. Whenever I do things I don’t want, or things like boring work, or am mean toward myself, the sun drains in colour. And it’s only possible for my sun to shine on others, to spend and share my energy with others, when the sun is fully coloured.☀️

I loved the beginning of this video, just the sounds of the tasks you were doing and your guitar, no talking... it was very calming! And I agree with a lot of people in the comments here, taking "me time" is not selfish. I have always felt the same way and I disliked that I sometimes felt selfish or guilty for it, but in reality, it's other people that make us feel that way, because they may not understand or are caught up in society standards. Saying that ourself comes first and then the others and needing time alone, doesen't mean we don't care about our loved ones 😊 Being alone and spending me time is probably one of my favourite things to do, because that's when I feel the most connected to myself.

Very interesting video and very beautiful to watch. Love that you recommend environmental topics and no Kalle you are not selfish you are a healthy human being who knows how to live a healthy relationship. Me time is essential for a good relationship. May i ask you why you fire in the open instead of using it for cooking or saving the wood for another moment to use? I was a bit shocked of the waste but maybe I didn’t understand the reason other of getting rid of it. You four are extremely beautiful creatures, people i would want to have in my life and spend time with. Thanks for the bundle docu thingy, gonna sign up for that!

That " me bucket " is a need for 90% of people !!! It is good or bad, I don t know and I don t judge !!! The only thing I know and was so fortunate to live is that always was "our bucket ", me and my life partner. The source of renewed energy, joy and happiness, the source of inner force and power for each of us !!!! When he left this world, once again I realized how blessed we were !!! There are 8 years since then and, of course, I didn't t find another soul to match that way !!!!So, I just watch the others, with calm compassion, who are not so " lucky" to find or achieve this as natural, genuine happiness !!!

Beautiful! Thank you! I lived out in the forest of Latvia on a small farm with my family. It was a great experience. I've been watching Living Big in a Tiny House for years now, and have Created my design. I need about 100,000 for land and materials and maybe like the outer shell so I can create my own living space. One thing I noticed, is your medallion is the cedar? Have you read The Anastasia book series? If so what do you think about it? I saw a lot of the stuff you did like bathing never ever quite similar to what she teaches.

First of i cant believe i missed this video and im so glad i noticed! I understand so much what you mean about your me bucket. My me bucket has been empty for a while now and i just cant take it any more. I have spent so much time focusing on others and completely forgot myself. This all ended in a panic attack and loosing my creativerty. I have so many me things i want to do, but just dont have the energy for it. Im finally starting to get better and want to get back on track with my things. Its time for me to be selfish. Next weekend im finally all alone and can do what ever I want! Im hoping some time alone will get my creativity back so i can start focusing on creating again. i miss making videos, but have had no time or energy to do so because others peoples needs have come before my own. Thank you for sharing Kalle! ❤
