i felt this, i had to chop and swap the rear quarter on my 94 Z32. those panels all interlace like the gtr as well. and once that panel was being attached for the final time. hollyyyyy talk about stressful! wanting to ensure all the body lines, panel and parts aligned perfectly. while praying all the seams and welds looked as oem as possible. just not wanting to hack or slack on anything is def stress. but once it all went together. and looked as it should. the weight just dropped off teh shoulder. felt unreal. years in the making. legit. bro. you did amazing work!!!!!

The general rule of thumb for adding strength via spot welds is every 1 inch. Which will overheat the panels if you just continue in a single line. Yes 1 inch seems like tight spacing but it is what's required. Spread yourself across each panel of the car, you're looking at over 10k spot welds to compete with a roll cage.

Very happy to see this happen. I had to replace both of my quarters too, not so much for rust but the fact the japanese owner had repaired it by using a tonne of bog filler... Your car will be a work of art when its done, I just hope you're able to find a place that will insure you for a decent amount! Mines insured for $130k AUD

@ryanwolfe91110 ай бұрын
You went way overboard with the spot welds lol. And also on the outer wheel house where the quarter sits against it, seam sealer is supposed to go on that flange, not panel bond, but It didn’t hurt that you did. Nice job Kalvin, I bet it feels good. 🎉
@KalvinMalli10 ай бұрын
Nah, I explain why👍🏽 and there’s nothing from factory that goes there. No seam sealer. I wouldn’t recommend seam sealer one bit there bro!
