This is the BEST review. Not just showing and playing, but having a real discussion too. Nobody does it this way, but everyone should. Great job.

Thanks, so much, I really love how comfortable you both are with jamming together. The instruments are so beautifully simple and sophisticated at the same time. Classy.

This is amazing! I bought my first ukulele this summer, and I’m practicing every day. I hope to get half as good as you guys! This video made me desire a standard pineapple (HP-1) model.

Love that great koa sound. Great carry, so loud. I have a Kamaka soprano gold label from back in the day when I was in Lincoln Elementary school. It was called a "student" model. I think it was 1971 or '72. I believe my uke was made in Japan but sold in Honolulu through my elementary school. For a couple of years Kamaka ukuleles were made in Japan exclusively.

Great video ! It's as pleasant to listen as to admire, both technically and for the beauty of the ukes ! (Wohaaaa, this honey color koa !!!). You guys are so talented, and seeing you enjoy playing so much helps me feeling motivated to dig some more fingerpiking stuff. Ukulele music is soooo underrated !... Thank you so much !

Just got my first Kamaka, an HF-1L. It's unlikely to be my last. I love it. It's such a nice contrast with my KoAloha Silver Pineapple longneck soprano, which is also an excellent instrument in its own right.

I have a Baritone from Kamaka. My friend tried substituting e string in place of the a string. That lasted about 30 min when I got his phone call saying the corner of the nut where the a string sits cracked off. Would you have any direct information on the proper place I could send it for repair? Mahalo nui!!

You left off the rarest of Kamaka Ukulele's in the HF-46, a 6 string Baritone. I inquired a couple year's ago about this model and Chris Kamaka confirmed it was in their standard "production" line of Ukulele's available to order, but couldn't find one picture of one to show me or recall ever seeing one himself. In the end, I went with a Pono Nui 10D Baritone and it's been a great instrument, especially with a Fishman Matrix Infinity Mic Blend pickup system (a step above Jake's Matrix pickup system, in theory... Lol) , but still would be interested in that elusive 6 string Baritone by Kamaka.

Their technique and style are very nice. Can anyone suggest me books or sources to learn to play like them, or in general to really improve?

I met Corey in the Ukulele Site store and asked the same question! He suggested "John King - The Classical Ukulele" :)

i know this is random....but at 14:43 over his shoulder is a sunburst glossy ukulele with a small cutway and a glittery trim. what is that? its so pretty.

I think that it might be a Pono Pro-Classic sunburst tenor ukulele - I have the same ukulele, but without the cutaway. It’s an incredible instrument and a joy to play!
