I am glad that Douglas and Jill are both educators. US should bring back Civic Education from K to 12 grade in all 50 states so that the next generation would have good understanding of our democracy and government systems. More important, children will grow up with the skills of critical thinking and analytical skills before they go to college or become the productive members of the society.

He was a lawyer in a good sized firm until she was elected VP and then he resigned. I like that both Jill and Doug are going to have careers of their own as well as the 2nd job of being 1st Lady and 2nd Gentleman. I think that Michelle Obama probably wanted to keep working but with two small kids and a husband being the 1st black President, she had to work probably 3x as hard as previous 1st Ladies.
