TBH honest there is a few things that are fundamental that has to be in place in order for the systemic change needed. Those are according to me universal healthcare, universal education and the removal of private interests in the criminal justice system. Any candidate who is not advocating for those issues is not progressive enough in my book. There are many progressive actions to be taken in many areas but too often decisions made are just of the kind that it pleases people on the left but they actually don’t bring the real change needed. I also think that progressives should focus on the presented core issues first. Take gun laws for example. I am 100% for gun reform but the damage done by gun laws in America is nothing compared to the healthcare system. Any politician from the centre to the right would love to discuss gun reform because it is a dealbreaker for a lot of people in certain states. I am not saying that progressives should abandon their stance on certain issues but I am saying they should not push secondary issues at the cost of the main ones. With this being said. The Biden administration might be progressive if you compare it with other administrations but that doesn’t really mean anything when the bar is that low. Can you name which groundbreaking progressive decisions that has been made that will affect America for generations to come? Can you point to any decisions that will lead to lasting needed change?
