This is fantastic. I lost my step daughter to MAGA.😞 she turns 21 this year. There is hope for the youts! They are closer to the age when morals and values are taught than a 60 year old. My point is, that the important lessons we were taught as children (“don’t be a sore loser”, “honesty is the best policy”, “Do unto others…”, “don’t be greedy” , “violence solves nothing”, etc., etc., etc. Most of us were taught these basics as kids. When do you ever hear anything remotely similar from MAGA? I say MAGA is the antithesis of fundamental morality.

They stopped teaching these morals because parents stopped being parents and gave their kids devices instead. When the parents lost their morals, the kids never learned them and the schools don’t teach them. In fact, the schools don’t even teach World War I or two anymore so if you wonder why so many young people are falling into the trap of racism it’s because the southerners are allowed to write the textbooks for the country and they just removed any information that would make them look bad, racist, or fascist. They probably removed all mention of authoritarianism as well or dictatorships. They certainly talk about slavery as if it was a choice for Black people. My son got stolen by a lottery, winning grandmother and put in the custody of a father who didn’t care. They were abusive, but she’s connected to the government of the state and so they covered her and made sure she and my son’s father didn’t get into trouble.

Walz is really so personable and one would feel he is just one of them. He is a middle class guy so he knows. One good thing is is his experience as a teacher and a coach. Nah, dominance is inherently a masculine trait and always has been, as well as weapons, which includes firearms. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are the first presidential and VP candidates in three generations young people may safely admire and look up to as role models. They are the first such individuals since JFK, in my opinion. At 65, I have a very clear memory of the 1960s, including watching that awful funeral in 1963 and feeling the spirit that continued to infuse the youth of America for years, in spite of the tremendous grief and loss. (Every young person ought to watch that funeral here on youtube, btw; it is a powerful testament to that spirit.) Let's all stop wasting our energy on unworthy third-raters like Trump and Vance and direct it instead towards a future led by Harris and Walz. They are certain to win, so we need to be ready, with ideas and solutions to take the country to a peaceful, prosperous future. "Make no little plans," to quote that master of urban design, Daniel Burnham.
