Kamala will announce her vp pick this coming Tuesday, in Pennsylvania. Josh Shapiro is from PA, so it looks like it may be him. Still, I'm hoping that she actually picks Pete Buttigieg. A black woman and a gay man running the US... The first thought is the Schadenfreude of watching the right explode at such a concept. However, look at it more seriously, and it's solid. Between them, a pair of strong and solid debaters. The elder voters will stay with their historic parties - Lifelong democrats will continue to vote Democrat, whether the VP is Kelly, or Shapiro, or Buttigieg, or whoever. Trump's voters will do the same. What matters now is the votes from the undecided voters in the swing states, which are already showing strong, but also the votes from the youth, and the minorities, be they ethnic minorities, LGBTQ, or whatever else. Kamala will reach the ethnic voters. Buttigieg will reach the LGBTQ community. Sure, Shapiro is strong on education, healthcare, and gun reform, but so is Buttigieg. The youth of America, the disenfranchised, are all looking for someone to represent them. Well, here is their best chance. I really hope they throw a curve ball and she nominates Buttigieg, even though the GOP will be expecting Shapiro because the rally is in his home state. Keep them guessing, keep throwing them off guard.

If you've watched the video of her speech at the Sorority, you'll be pleased to see that she's already changing her speeches. The opening of the first 2-3, where she talks about working as a prosecutor, a DA, etc, and how she "knows Donald Trump's type" was a magnificent soundbite, and has already echoed far and wide. However, instead of doing a greatest hits recital like Trump does (Sharks, windmills, Hannibal Lecter, Viktor Orban and Kim Jeong Eun...) she didn't even mention her career history. In the spirit of the slogan "We're not going back" she's not even going back to her speeches from a couple of days ago, she's already moving forward. I'm fine if she repeats that catchphrase here and there, but I'm hoping that she continues to keep adding new twists to the narrative, changing the order, not doing a playlist. There is a lot of information that the media has failed to convey, and she has the perfect chance to remedy that, without turning herself into a carnival dancing monkey like Trump has been doing for so long.
