I have four. Three made in Bangladesh, and one made in China that I bought from Kohl's in-store. The Chinese one has no number stamps on the button backs, and is cut slightly slimmer than the others.

Was gifted an old jacket from the early 2000s but I honestly can't tell if it's real or fake. The finishing seems high quality but it has no waist adjusters or waist pockets. The buttons have high quality lettering but no numbers. And the care tag is so perished, I can't read anything on it.

Care tags are not a practical way to authenticate Levi's jackets. The big ones with multiple languages are a more recent development and don't appear in older jackets. I agree that the poor quality stitching on the inside is an indicator, but it is subjective to measure. The fake jacket had two features indicating it was a fake. The first is the red tab on the lower pocket. Levi's has never ever done that so that makes them obvious fakes. I have been wearing Levi's Type 3 jackets for five decades and don't remember ever having one with gold stitching around the button holes like with the fake jacket, it has always been blue stitching.

@@chopperking1122 I have been wearing Levi's since the 1960s and care tags are not effective for authentication because they are easily faked. When real the care tags are important for determining the month and year of manufacture. The best way to tell a fake is by mistakes in the product. Levi's used to have very high quality control standards and a jacket with an embarrassingly misplaced second red tab on the lower pocket would never have gotten through. That is like a car having two steering wheels, you know something is wrong.

Levi's produces original garments in China. More than the place of manufacture, I suggest to check all the numbered elements in the video.

I got everything correct except the button has no embroidery of numbers.. Otherwise stitching and all r just as shown.. My Levis jacket is black n made in China.. Can I assure that it's original Levis jacket

me too... I bought twice of jacket via online shop from official levis store... and there is no any number engraved on the back buttons. But I bought 1 jeans 511 from the same store then I checked it has number on one button of the jeans. It's weird, the both jacket I bought have no number but the jeans has

Both are not made in USA… therefore, both are imitations from third world countries…. Doesn’t have the quality that US made has…. Whether it’s made in bangladesh, tunisia, turkey, mexico or China, still its not the real thing. Buy vintage Levi’s when it’s still made in USA, then you can say ‘REAL’, AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL Levi’s!
