Great video with clear step by step instructions. You may avoid dismantling the quick release by using electrical tape to keep the connector folded and enabling it to easily pass through.

Thank you, and good tip on taping it! 👍🏻

Great guide! I don't even have a wheel like this.

Hey dude, good to see you! I’ve not visited the PYT discord in a while, been dealing with some health issues, but I’m getting back into the swing of things. I realized in post I did a poor job lighting the wheel so I had to crank up the exposure, and my mic positioning was off and got pretty heavy plosives…but it’s very functional even tho I made some mistakes recording it haha 🤦🏻♂️

Ah yeah, no worries! I hope you feel better quickly!

Nice guide Ben! I used to have the csl elite and got tired of Fanatec’s flimsy quickrelease. Upgraded to a Simagic Alpha which uses NRG 2.0 style quick release. Super sturdy and I never looked back perhaps you may want to look into Simagic or Moza wheelbases

Thanks for checking out the video and taking a moment to comment! Locking ball QRs are great, definitely a good way to go. I will probably upgrade to a DD soon. Man NRG sure has done an effective job with their marketing, the “NRG Style” quick release was developed and patented by Works Bell 3 years before ATW (the company doing business as NRG Innovations) was even created 😅

What did you tell them to get this part shipped? They are telling me they don't ship this part and it can only be repaired in their repair shop. Thank you!

I sent them a timestamp to boosted media’s video where he described replacing the male/female wiring harness and said I wanted to do the same thing. Will’s (Boosted Media) video was probably less to the point than mine since his wasn’t a tutorial, so I’d literally send them this video and say something like “I want to order the part at (timestamp) like this guy” The part number on the bag may or may not help as well, but if you use the same terminology as I did and a clear reference it’s your best bet. Since the CSW is discontinued maybe they aren’t interested in selling component parts now, IDK, but that’s what I’d try. Best of luck 🍀

Any idea what size screws you purchased to replace the broken ones? I had 2 of them break. Thanks
@KameTrick Жыл бұрын
I don’t know the size offhand, sorry. Fanatec could tell you, if you can indicate with a photo which part of the wheel the screw goes into. Their support team would have no problem looking that up, just might take 2-3 days to get a response. I’m sure they’d sell you the bolt too, though with the size you could buy one elsewhere easily. My personal favorite option in that case is to take the bolt to a hardware store or fastenal and use their tools to have the size verified

Me too, dude! I didn't have any issues with my wheel for 3 years of weekly driving, and I bought mine used so who knows what sort of life it had before that...knowing what I do now, I think it had a broken pin or two when I first bought it and I just didn't notice cause I had no idea what the pin connector looked like new...whoops haha

I'm done with Fanatec they are a terrible company and should be avoided. I Updated the drivers on my DD1 and lost all vibration effects in Dirt Rally 2 try'd to downgrade back to the older drivers with their downgrade feature in Fanatec control didn't fix it. Told fanatec about the issue they try'd to shift the blame onto my PC instead of their drivers. There was no problem before the update so it's obvious it's Fanatec's fault and they won't admit to it. I've had problems with their so called customer support before as have many others but this is the last straw for me. These kinds of issues should not happen for such a high price. You can literally buy a simucube for around the same money as a DD1. I will not make the mistake of buying Fanatec again. Instead of addressing genuine issues with their products they would rather argue and blame the customer even going so far as to tell outright lies anything to avoid owning up to their own faults.
