Was very puzzled by the lemur too. Guy very sensible (and successful!) with the endangered tortoises; but starts a rant about 'Big Bureaucrazy' crushing `The Dream` then proceeds in giving all the reasons why these lemurs should be under a single globally-organized programme, to stand a sliver of a less-inbred survival chance as a species. I understand the business case (`turnstyle animal`) but some ringtailed lemurs will do for that.

This reminded me of when I was young and we had our trio of California Desert Tortoises (they are endangered, but can be kept legally with a permit, which we did have). We had a big enclosed planter that we set up for them outside with shelters and hides. We didn't give them heat, as they are native to our region (and thus the ambient climate) and were allowed to brumate naturally overwinter in the burrows they dug, but we tried to recreate a habitat for them. They were much beloved by me and all my siblings. ❤

Idk, I've had dealings with primates and I could not find a zoo that would ever take them (even a ring-tailed lemur). My area zoo had to quarantine the ape that they obtained for a single gibbon, for quite a while. They have reasons why they don't accept animals from unknown sources. All the primates end up in sanctuaries (if lucky). Primarily primates in TX was one of the ones I used, but I heard that they had issues. As long as the apes and monkeys are okay, I didn't care about the funding or where it was going.

14:30, this is why young tortoises that can brumate naturally are able to brumate. Russian tortoise eggs laid in spring may hatch in fall but the hatchlings emerge later next spring(the same can be said for the summer eggs laid after estivation). This is just anecdotal evidence and logic I pieced together, but someone should definitely confirm this with an experiment and make it known in the temperate tortoise community!

Its simply doesn't change how reptile "lovers" continue to have no spacial awareness of these great beings. They move fast, talk loud, and walk up fast towards them without any regard to their feelings . Simply put, its the human arrogance and assumptions that they don't mind or care. Spending thousands of dollars to make their enclosures bigger in hopes to mimic their true habitats to minimize trauma and anxiety instead of putting that money towards campaigning to protect their natural habitats. Sure, its a great that they rescue them from owners that believe their capable of homing and caring for these long living beings, I get that, but just because you do so, doesn't give you permission to put your egos above their feelings and desire for autonomy and respect for their being. If humans have an aura and field of energy that we all have a right to protect and choose who comes in to that field, so does all life have the right to have their sense of space/aura respected. They feel and have a right to decide who enters their space. ""Oh I am an educator, I am trying to ensure their survival, and want to protect them"", but you do so without respect. You would do well to speak with a animal communicator and let them teach you and tell you what these beings are actually thinking and feeling. The gentleman who had a black panther who cared for lots of big cats, didn't realize how his behavior and the past of the cat had a huge impact on how the cat reacted. In one session with the animal communicator, he was able to actually understand what he was doing, how his perception and limited understanding and view of other sentient beings, how it was keeping him from being able to be more compassionate, sensitive, and effective in helping the back panther. Afterward, the cat stopped being so aggressive and he began to bond with the cat and even more the other cats that live at his sanctuary all by leaving his ego at the door and actually listening and being willing to actually try and hear them and learned how to communicate back to them. All I ask all animal and reptile people is to do better, be kinder, more compassionate and sensitive and be willing to listen and take time to learn how to communicate with them and you will see better results and happier beings that you have chosen to care for.

You still give a S*** about animals as pets when so many are being brushed to extinction. Seems like such a lazy bs attitude to campgiht against wild animals as pets when fact of matter all over the world we are and have pushed so many species to extinction and few even talk about that.

I understand what this guy is saying about morphs but the problem i have with that is if ur creating morphs it's not for release into the wild they are meet to sell for pets. I understand about how lemurs are endangered and about the morphs for them but still morphs in animals such as snake are strictly meant for pet trade. Also some morphs are actually found in the wild and those animals thrive just fine. Thats how morphs started anyways.

Mike Williams dogs are a common domesticated animal, not endangered wild animals so it’s a totally different situation. He is interested in conservation and education with his wild animals, and he wants to help strengthen the genetics of endangered animals, not breeding them for pretty colors and mutt genetics to attract questionable people to buy them. That leads to a lot of unqualified people trying to care for an exotic they don’t know how to.

I was watching this really annoying little kids KZbin that stages "Abused Animal Rescues" Like this KZbinr hes "Found" at least 5 animals in Petsmart dumpsters (On Camera) and anyways hes a huge Know-it-all at 20 years old. He only God knows how breeds turtles and tortoises and he left the babies in his garage and they got their little fins CHEWED OFF BY RATS from his nasty garage all the while tooting his own horn about how amazing of a animal person he is. So irritating!

They are TRULY art! 🙏🙌 The LORD GOD has taken care of them ALL till we discovered them! WE brought the Judgment which causes the animals to be endangered! There were no pestilences till Adam and Eve were deceived by the devil.

Magnificent.in the nineties it was all the rage,to keep exotic animals. I've worked with rehabilitators.color morphology was a horrorshow. We rescued everything that crossed our paths. We constructed natural enclosures., eventually they got so comfortable they bred., turtles, tortoises, snakes ,parrots, hot herps. Took so many resources, lost my house to the bills.we has a superb herp vet.,birds of prey,to poison frogs.geochelata to alligator turtles, there is no end to the joy of discovering. He is magnificent.wish I could visit.am old and broken though. WELL DONE

Very nice enclosure for the animals you have!! Does the weather for turtles cooler weather produce male turtles and the Sun or heat produce female turtles like it does for crocodiles or alligators. I mean? 🙂🐢🐢🌴🌳🌲🌵👍✌️🖐️

I hate that back during then pandemic so many people were so afraid of public opinion that they allowed it to get in the way of seeing friends and family who they know were safe and not sick. When you and your friend or family member have been home The Whole time the risk is so low. I seen all my family members and didn’t allow public opinion to ruin my life. You can tell Kenan doesn;t mind seeing or hugging a friend specially because he is a careful guy I am also careful even though I seen family members and my neighbors It doesn’t mean I’m licking their mouths after mowing they may have been exposed. Kenan and everyone else who chose to see people during the pandemic and maybe they didn’t do masks it’s their choice, just as these people saying my body my choice.... well happened to my body my choice during the height of the pandemic? Oh that’s right rules for thee not for me.

I donated my female albino Burmese Python to the Toledo Zoo. I had to, I couldn’t take care of her anymore. Between feeding and housing, it was becoming a lot.

Sad that the Galapidoes Island are now allowing more people to inhabit the islands which in turn disturbs the wildlife,we shall see in the future how much it's going to be affected ,beautiful place enjoyed seeing all those amazing animals and loved the dog 🐕 ☺ 🇬🇧

In the area that you have the biggest torts, I notice they have some pyramids on their backs, have you given them Missouri tortoise food? That will give them to them. In your area where you have them, if you would let the clover and weeds grow in ( the short ones are best up to 6" ) you won't have that problem and you save money on feed too. I've been letting my Sulcata torts enjoy the growings in the yard for 14 years and their shells are nice and smooth with no pyramids. Lots of people have trouble with that food giving their torts pyramids.

That is too bad about the zoning departments. I love how you are doing the enclosure. They look well taken care of! Those democrats ruin the chance to take care of endangerd animals unless they are in a zoo. Zoos only have limited space. No one should buy endangered animals as pets. Many people in the states just want to rebuild endangered species numbers, just like this gentleman. I do wonder if he has used any of the animals as surrogates?

The lemurs are escape artist. We had them at the zoo I worked at and they constantly escaped. We were constantly closing the park because of them escaping. We would change there habitat and then they would figure out a different way to get out. We had several different types there. I loved them. They never scared me. The only thing that scared me that escaped was a big male silverback gorilla. That was scared. Lol

That tortoise has a better house than I have. The main difference is I have a door on the box I live in. And the tortoise doesn’t even have to pay rent. Big old boy doesn’t know how good he has it. I’m glad there’s someone out there with the money and heart to spoil him rotten. I’m only a little bit jealous. Anyone want a worn out broken down, old, and seriously dinged up pet human to spoil? Didn’t think so. We’re as common as cockroaches and a lot more expensive to keep alive.
