Awesome video, you nailed ball python people haha it is totally nerdy baseball card behavior, I should know I'm one of them. I love all reptiles but I have to admit I got pulled into chasing morphs, it's a bit ridiculous but for me it's about messing with genetics and trying to create something nobody has seen before or making existing genetics better. I'm also an artist and builder so I think that's where that comes from. I don't just keep my animals locked up in tiny dirty tubs all day though, they are all my beloved pets with names and my full attention.

Kenneth Crosby I have mine in a 4*2*2, pvc enclosure. They bask at temperature 120-145 F, so an aquarium really will make you lose money when it comes to electricity bill. Since aquarium don’t retain heat. But you right the bigger the cage the better, and you’ll see more activities from them.

an ackie needs at least a 4x2x2 for an adult with a 1ft of substrate. they require high heat which can't be provided in a fish tank.
@brytonup15516 жыл бұрын
joshua templeton why do you say a fish tank can’t provide heat? A heat pad under the substrate and a proper headlight and it should be fine in a 55 for atleast a year
@joshuatempleton95566 жыл бұрын
@@brytonup1551 a heat pad does not provide surface temp nor does it get hot enough to provide correct ambient air temps. an ackie needs a 75f cool side, a low to mid 90s hot side and a surface basking temp of 125-135f. at 13 inches wide a 55 gal does not provide enough space to provide a large enough basking surface area for a ackie to properly bask in and create gradient to properly thermo regulate in. fish tanks don't support 1ft plus substrate and open top screens create convection that dehydrate reptile through respiration.
