Random fact 21, watching Kanaju will fill your mind with great stuff about NMS and are always worth watching. Thanks

Fun fact for number 15: The planets in NMS *did* rotate around the local stars in the early stages of development. It was removed because beta testers found it too confusing and kept reporting it as a glitch.

I can think of two other useless facts. In fact, I was thinking about them while watching your first video, and now after 50 I feel I can contribute my own. These are things I observed myself, but are probably known. 1) In the lading screen, the names of the systems shown are not the real names of the systems. They're just names picked from a list. In a single loading screen you will sometimes see the same name several times, and on distinct loading sessions you can sometimes see the same names again. 2) I dislike some sky colors on planets, but from space, if you look closely at a planet's atmosphere's layer, you can tell in advance what color the sky will be before even landing. It's not always the case, but it works often enough.

Wow theres a few there I never noticed before. I always wondered why docile animals seemed to turn on me. I must have dinged a baby lol. I rarely shoot critters on purpose... though a buddy and I had a really good laugh catapulting some mini-diplos with the plasma grenades one day. The ragdoll animation was just hilarious for some reason. There is a weird glitch that happens occasionally that makes creatures a statue after you kill them. They stand there frozen, and register in the scanner. There's an interesting one I never have been able to reproduce... but on the same day we were launching diplo carcasses, passing ships fired on me and nearly killed me. I flew way up in the air and lost like 4 full shields. And this was way before the addition of pirate raids. We were trying to see how far/how high we could lob a plasma nade and I guess the passing ships didn't appreciate it. Since then I have opened up on passing ships with every weapon, and couldn't get them to do it again.
@Kanaju2 жыл бұрын
lol I also love the ragdoll physics in this game. You know, I was able to accidently agro a passing ship while on foot the other day myself. It's attacks didn't launch me though, though I remember fauna attacks used to send me. lol So I could totally see what you're describing. Thanks for sharing!

Cool NMS Fact: In the new Echoes update, during the mission where you put atlandium on a bunch of machines, they will start to talk in binary. It reads as it follows: Motherhome; She grows; She lives; She is near.
@BlackringIII Жыл бұрын
I have one for you; note, it's a bit difficult to confirm this. So, the sentinels are like one big hive mind right? I've noticed when taking pictures of my sentinel ships, the red glowing visors of the ships always sync up. They're off at the same time, then all on at the same time. So cool to me that it works like that.
@kuraiwolf4047 Жыл бұрын
That can be explained from a technical point. They likely use global tick delta to handle timing and speed of animated shader effects. That is a common place thing in all modern games.

Hooray! Random facts! Good job! Here's another one: Despite being reprogrammed to serve the player, Laylaps will still scan various plants, animals, and structures just like a normal sentinel drone. Also, question, if there are currently no settlements on Switch, how do those players obtain Laylaps and the Hardframe Exo-Mech parts?
@Kanaju2 жыл бұрын
True, although Laylaps sort of has their own agenda from what I remember. They're more like a companion than a pet or servant. And that's a good question! I'm actually not sure. 🤔
@kuraiwolf4047 Жыл бұрын
They just can't. I don't think any of that is a thing on switch.

And other useless fact that I only figured out on accident is that you can do little barrel rolls during the warp loading screen. It can only be done with star ships, not freighters obviously, but it's an interesting little detail.

"Free of charge!" I mean, I can't say there's no way I might throw money your way to hear you talk about strange/dumb/weird stuff in this game. In my family we don't just say 'Oooh, Ah" we say (favorite time for this is fireworks, lol) "Oooh, Ah, murmur". The great thing about that is when other people figure out you're literally saying "murmer" it makes them chuckle. :) OMG, it's the Windows Intergalactic(tm) symbol! "You can look around the loading screen." I know what I'm gonna do next time I load up NMS!

Get a settlement. Go to the space station cartographer and get a settlement chart for five navigation data. Then use it to find a settlement. Claim that settlement by becoming the overseer and then progress with its mission. You’ll eventually get a communicator call on your starship while in a different system. There’s a wiki article on the quest called A Trace Of Metal, so be cautious of spoilers, but do check it out for further help on actually triggering the Trace Of Metal quest.

When I am adding slots onto my exosuit, it totally add them way over on the right hand side. I’ll put two or three over there partially for giggles and grins because I think it’s ridiculous and partially because it’s kind of fun to stick things that I want to make sure stay filled up like ammunition, ion batteries, etc. 😂 I can usually get slots pretty quickly so it doesn’t last for very long, but it sort of cracks me up because it’s so silly

If you do the purge storyline, that’s the one you get the 16 gloves in. If you find aliens on the space station, talk to them. Then talk to them again and offer them 100 neonates. They will tell you where they’re grave is and you can get a glyph from them😊
