Your underwater thruster didnt work bc you put it on top of the craft, which made it come out of the water before you could fully extricate yourself to where your main thrusters could take over (which wont fire underwater at all)

You should try dethrone with amphibious vehicles, but to prevent people driving off into the ocean, don't allow respawning. That way you can drive off for 30 seconds... But then you have to drive back for 30 seconds.
