A few years ago we saw a wallaby do the same thing right up the top of morrisies near the causeway. The creek was a lot narrower than the one in your video but we were thinking the same as you, crazy. Have also seen a couple of headless wallabies floating in that same area too so they don’t always get the rub of good luck

I have never seen a kangaroo swim before and I don't recall seeing one swimming in any documentary either. I think that swimming using his tail would be very quiet and not likely to attract a Bull shark or a Crocodile. However, if either animal was in the river and within 100 metres either up stream or down stream from the Kangaroo then all bets are off. If the kangaroo swam towards where a Crocodile was sunning on the river bank, then that kangaroo is a goner. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

I would say your the lucky one, that some grubament bloke did not grab you for harassment of wild life, it's an everyday event for Roos to swim from the mainland to Fraser Island. Your actions may have deprived a Bull shark or a starving Croc of a meal, and altered the gene pools of several wild life species. HAHAHAHA! Good vid, loved it.

If the Roo new what was going on he wouldn't have swam it. He doesn't know what's in the water. No one does but when you know there is prolific croc numbers and Bull Sharks it is just luck if you swim it and don't get taken. Make a habit of it and you will be taken.
