The Aussies have had some fantastic full backs over the years, But personally I rate Graham Eadie as the best of them.

Just noting that Advance Australia Fair was not proclaimed to be the national anthem until 1984. Also, this match is little more than 30 short years after the end of WW2.

Unwatchable compared to later when they got rid of all the scrums after six tackles and brought in 4 point tries. 3 of the first 8 minutes taken up lining up for penalty goals. Union still hasn’t understood the stupidity of this.

What a fouler Mills was. For Wales stomps on a NZ head. Here he head butts Reddy and gets away with it. Good game from Eadie and Raudonikus, Reddy and Ray Price.

Oh, yeah, Rod Reddy was an angel - at least when he didn't have his dentures in

Totally unfair that the Great Britain team was allowed to bring their "Lunches" on the pitch with them. Why didn't they just have lunch before the game? ☺☺

Great Britain were very well looked after by referee Mick Naughton on this day.

I get it for us modern people, but Eddie Warring was the voice of rugby league for a very long time. He'll always have a large piece in history.

Eddie Waring is a legend and did an enormous amount to get RL on the TV. He was the voice of RL for 2 decades. He wasn't a "professional" commentator. He died in 1986 from dementia and may have had the condition whilst still working. This video is from 1978.

@@paullyon3760 I was surprised in this period that the BBC did not try to replace him before 1981 with John Helm, Keith Macklin and Ray French all doing radio at the time and it was likely even in 1978 that Eddie Waring's replacement would come from radio (in the Spring of 1981 Helm and Macklin were favourites to replace Waring) Helm and Macklin would go to ITV the former to do Football the latter to do Rugby League which led to Ray French replacing Waring if Helm or Macklin stayed with the BBC and moved to TV Ray French would have likely stayed at radio moving from Radio Merseyside to Network Radio Sport as RL commentator
