Kano's name is written 鹿乃 which reads as "of the deer(shika)." In reality, she's an utaite that became a professional singer, but she's never shown her face to the public. For streaming, she uses the image of a girl with little deer antlers. But for live appearances, she actually wears a full costume of her mascot Bambi-chan. It’s more literal, but no one really uses “retort” in a casual conversation. It makes sense to me contextually to use “tease” because that’s the intention for retorting here. Tease is also just more commonly used in daily life.
